Yes and yes. I wasn't sure how they compared to beavers though, so I googled some pictures for reference. Unexpectedly, I ended up with photos of small animals. Damn safe search.

I looked up the sugar glider. I didn't realize it actually was a glider. I also didn't realize how small they are. Did you lure that one with treats.

That was a few years ago - I don't quite remember how it transpired. But yes, they do indeed glide! I think that's the only wild one I've ever seen.
