RZ350 has a Duck, might be a 1098 or so? I've got a collection of old bikes, one being a Triumph speed triple, love my naked Hooligan. It manages to scare the shit out of me at least a few times a week!!

I don't have a pic of mine on this computer, so I pulled this off the web. Much like your Duck, short wheel base, lots of power = wheelie!!!!!
I haven't worked up the nerve to upshift yet, but still use first gear, little clutch, bring it up and run it out to where it runs out of steam.

Gotta work up to that shift to second!!!!

Very nice lil' monster you got there.

thats a great photo and a bad little bike, I presume Ducs still use a Desmo head configuration?

Really dont know much about Ducs since my only experience with an old 305? or 350? single on a Champion frame, paid $150 back in early 70s, mowed lots of yards to get that much scratch in those days and never could keep it running (it was not a Desmo valve) it did have a chrome plated aluminum tank with the pitchforks badge and what not

I got in a race a few weeks ago, against a Ducatti, and a Buell. We all three ended up slippin' thru traffic on P.C.H. Wound up lined up at a light, so naturally, well you know how it goes!! Ducatti won, Triumph second, Buell third

The next light, the Monster takes off slowly, and then passes both of us as He clicks thru second and then third gear, He was burning something that smelled sweet, and made our eyes water. It was ungodly fast!!!!

A friend once told me that a Ducati is like a really hot girlfriend who wants to go out for lobster every night (High maintenance)

Ducati's sound bad ass!! the 90 degree opposed twin sounds a bit like a Harley
but less lopier, and less vibration than the 45 degree twin.

I think the 90 degree configuration allows it to rev higher, however it loses a little of the low end steam that a Harley has. I've never ridden a Ducati, I base my observations on years of riding Harleys, and years of watching Ducatis.

lol, yes, they are a little more expensive in maintenance, but I do mostly all of the tooling myself.

They sound badass indeed!! I'll try to get a film of mine running.

they sure do. The desmo valves are very good at high rpm's. The normal spring valves can start to "hoover" at high rpm's. The desmo's do not have this problem.

Mr RZ350 has a Duck 999, just saw a photo he posted months back. I don't know how it would stack up against a 1098 or 1198, I'm just a fan of the theory that bigger holes = bigger noise, bigger noise = faster.

Although come to think of it some of the biggest displacement and loudest bikes can also be the slowest, so my theory is shot full of holes by Me.

Yeah, I've got a 999. I dont care if a 1098 is faster. Any liter bike is already more then fast enough. I love the thing. Not been riding much recently. insurance is a bitch.

yeah.. with those bikes it does not really matter that much which bike youve got underneath you. Its how good you are and how crazy you are willing to drive which pushes you to victory or failure.

if anything, for sheer speed, the Japanese I-4's are probably the fastest. Gix1k R-1, ect. But they lack a certain cool factor for the street.

If you're chasing Ferrari Spider around the Ashinoko Skyline, there's nothing finer... Unless you're in an R8 of course. Neko.
