Good on you for sticking it out to get GJ to trust you, He looks to be about 10 months old or there abouts? Or he looks young anyway, Shepard and Doberman mix? he'll grow if he's as young as I think he is? Probably 70 pounds or so?

He looks smart, love the red color. Good luck on the trust issues, that can sometimes be very trying.

GJ is definitely an adult dog. He has some grayface going on, and his teeth aren't puppy teeth. I'm thinking maybe five or six? We'll know in a week or so when we get him to the vet to get his balls chopped off and his vaccinations done. And he weighs around 55 pounds, but he's underweight. My guess is he'll weigh 65 pounds or so when he porks up.

He definitely has a Dobie face, but his tongue is cheetah spotted with purple like a Chow Chow or a Spitz. His tail is weird as hell, too. It starts out like a normal Dobie tail (what few I've seen since most Dobies get their tails cropped) and then curls at the end.

He's trusting us more and more, though there are times where he gets very submissive and acts like we're going to hit him. We took him to a coffee shop on Wednesday and he did really well with all the people around. He was absolutely terrified of a miniature dachshund that was barking at him, though. That was hilarious.

Ok, I see the light bit of grey under his nose, I always hate to see that on my dogs as it reminds me how much shorter their lives are than ours.

We just lost two dogs due to cancer, we had been thru the chemo route with other dogs in the past, we vowed never to put another animal thru that shit again, the cost was astronomical not only to the animal, but to us financially.

We realized that with this many mouthes to feed (est 40) we can't blow the budget to try and keep one alive for a couple of extra months, while everybody else starves, or we can't afford advantage, or something else.

It sucks to not give a dog you've had for sixteen years, an operation they need in order to live, sometimes you have to make decisions with your brain and not your heart!!!

Growing up and making adult decisions really blows!!!!!

Wow, this is asking for trouble. You WANT to see the doggie pictures...well OK!

This is Angus. He's a 6 yo tri-color Pembroke Welsh Corgi (no tail) and we were camping in VT when I took this pic. He's guarding the tent.

Yes, he has legs. Very, very short legs.

And he loves to swim.

Next up is Woody. 4 yo Bagel (Basset/Beagle cross) Momma was an 85lb chestnut Basset and Daddy was a 9 inch Beagle. There's a vision for ya! He's the King of comfy and never misses an opportunity to take a nap.

Following the sun.

He's in the back of my Tahoe with his head between the split rear seats sleeping. Angus is in the back with two of my neighbors dogs Sadie (Angus' mom) and Andy.

Ruby is a 2 yo chestnut Basset and is the most exasperating one of the bunch. Trouble is her middle name even though it doesn't show in this shot.

Big ears.

Ruby sleeping on her back.

The newest member is Stewie. He's now 5 mos old and is a blue merle Cardigan Welsh Corgi (has a tail).

Group shot sitting out in the yard. The two hounds will sleep in the chairs and Angus stays out of the sun on the lower level of the table.

The hounds keeping warm in front of the wood stove. They love the heat and would stay there til their brains cook if I let them.

Going for a ride. Never seems to be enough room in the truck, I probably just need a bigger one.

This is Putty Tat, a stray we adopted. She was someones cat and still had a collar with a phone number on it. I called several times and left messages but never got a call back.

Well, it looks like we are definitely going to be getting a new member of the family. I took Roxie to meet a new friend named Josie tonight. Josie was found wandering around town and is pretty thin. She is young, guessing maybe a bit more than 6 months so she is massively full of energy and is all about play time. After a bit of getting to know one another, playtime got into full swing! Anyhow, I managed to snap a few photos.

Josie looks like she is mostly boxer. She is a girl, and I will need to get her spayed and get her shots and all that fun stuff. Anyhow, on to the pix!

Hey! What does he eat? I know a lot of people feed cat food but it leads to FLD or fatty liver disease in hedgies....

Ours lived a few years before getting bone cancer and he passed away at a hospice for hedgehogs. The lady who I brought him to was amazing and sent me pictures. She really had a way with them...he would never come out for me, but she called him and he came, and was really happy.

I guess it's time I dig up some pictures of pets

I didn't even notice the febreeze sittin' there. there is always a few around our place. Our three dogs love to lounge around on the couches, they think we bought 'em just for them, and sometimes they get to smellin' a little dogged.

The skunk has been de-skunked, thank God!!!
