Yearbooks, or pictures of friends
< on 9/28/2008 4:39 PM >

I don't know that anyone would be interested in this, but I loved Nan's old post of her pictures in the 80's. The one in the subway was awesome.

I tried looking for some and got kind of bored, so I just scanned in 2 pages from an old yearbook. I was in grade 8 at the time and the grade 10 class was moving on so they got the full write ups. Also, I am embarrassed about all the make-up and huge hair I wore at the time.

It is kind of boring and fascinating at the same time.

I totally forgot, and I apologize. I'm off tomorrow and Friday, though, so I promise I won't disappoint you.

Sam, just suck it up and show them your prom picture.

Although, I'm still envious of Nicole...she got to go with you...I stayed home, watched some utterly forgettable movie and od'd on popcorn, then the next year when it was my class's turn...again, stayed home, watched another utterly forgettable movie and od'd on popcorn.

I don't have any pictures of me other than what's in my yearbook and...sadly...no scanner.

What's really stupid...we went to the same high school, barely a year apart, it took 15 years, 5000 miles and 10 lousy jobs between us to get hired a week apart at the same mill, then run into each other at shutdown and he ends up temporarily in my department a year and a half later with some rather nefarious coworkers.

Not that we didn't know each other before, but back then...he wouldn't have looked at me twice and I certainly didn't think he'd want someone like me back then. Not to mention I had a 4'4" dwarf of a kid chasing me for four years, a serious crush on my instrumental music teacher and a crush on one other guy in Sam's class that came out of the closet a few years ago.

What's even more funny...if there were a category called "Most Likely To Become a Lesbian", I think I would have won. I had horribly short hair until junior year, I've always been at least 50 lbs overweight and dressed like a dumpy boy with floppy sweaters, knit trousers and loafers.

I can't find my damn yearbooks! They may have gotten tossed into the bin when roommates moved in. I'm not sure! I'm trying here!

I think I nailed the chick in the middle.

Fortunately, I had a teacher who hated me so much that I was forbidden from getting my yearbook picture taken on the grounds that I was late for class that day, and thus had to sit through one of his yelping lectures on 'responsibility.' Hence, I have no yearbook picture, circa 1983.

Lucky me.

That is awesome. It is so weird that they gave your address.

I guess came back to look at it again, because I love it and I noticed this time that everyone is so dressed up. This is so great.

I agree, the inclusion of a home address seems to date the pictures far more than the fashions do
