A term used to describe air currents caused by a rapid influx of water into a storm system or sewage system. A larqe quantity of water will displace an equal volume of air as it enters a system, temperature differences between the water and air can also induce thermal air currents.

Some drain and tunnel systems have regular breezes blowing through them due to construction and/or placement. But any previously unencountered air current, or breeze of unusual strength or temperature, may be an indicator of a rapidly flooding system.

Should a Drain Wind be experienced it is best to exit the system as quickly as is possible.
