Bump keys are specially designed keys that are able to bypass many pin-tumbler locks. Instead of a normal keying, they have a number of identical bumps, that when inserted into the lock quickly, (i.e. by partially inserting it and tapping the back of the key) 'throw' the pins up past the shear line. If a slight torsion is applied to the key, it will often open.

You will need a bump key designed for the keyway of the lock you are trying to open. Bumping, when it works, is usually significantly faster than SPP.

Bump keys are similar to lockpicks in terms of legality. See Lock Picks / Lock Picking
