I went there a few months ago. Demolition had started. Place’s trashed. I don’t know about the status of the place at this moment.

Does anyone know the story behind this factory building in Hamilton? I drive by it all the time and it looks like a prime Urbex location, and has appeared abandoned for a long time. |

First pic (mine) in that link above is from inside.
It's a former Westinghouse building, and is currently owned by McMaster Innovation Park. They have big plans for it. Interesting space if you like volume. The 'office building'-looking side, seen in your pic (606 Aberdeen) is less interesting inside than you'd think.
Here's a mash-up of the inside and outside:

ps. edit: no, demolition has not started. The place is the same today as it was 3 years ago.

I set off an alarm in that place over a decade ago by entering the office area, I doubt any of that stuff is still active now though. A few other properties near it have been getting built in the last year or two so while it isn't being demolished yet, I doubt it'll be around for much longer. Probably worth checking out if you can manage it, just be careful on the Frid Street side of the building, the CANMET lab had some nosy security last time I was down there.
