Teleglobe Station in NS
< on 5/2/2023 1:37 AM >

been here twice before with different people but found out this time that 3/4 buildings amongst the complex have been demolished and they may start to implement security measures as this is a fairly well known/easily accessible spot. thankfully the main building is still standing and in shape, though most access points are closed off/ sealed except for 2. still, managed to get some really nice pictures of the inside. i know graffiti is a touchy subject but i think it looks very cool here.

interesting thing: my dad went here on a college field trip in the 90's back when this place was still up and running !

Is there anything of the main building left?
Also, are the other two dish buildings still up?

i have a cannon eos rebel sl2 and i was using a 18 - 55mm lens. i had the aperture as low as it could go because it was extremely dark, so depending where i was it let me go down to anywhere between f/4 or f/5, and the shutter speed was 1/16 to get as much light but keep sharp. can't quite remember my iso i probably had it set to auto lol

edit: i use adobe lightroom to edit my photos and give them that colder colour look and make the colours pop a little more

the main building is still very much intact, but most windows/ doorways have been bricked up. however, its the only building left now. everything else has been demolished and completely flattened. i'm not sure if its because they plan on doing something with it, or because the other buildings were already so far gone that they wrecked those and just bricked up the main one because it was easier.

Last June when it was being bricked up I was able to talk to one of the guys, he said it had sold to a German with plans to turn it in to some kind of spa / retreat / dooms day bunker. That was a year ago so who knows what the plan is now.

I was impressed by the size of the gate and the barbed wire, and all the effort that was going in to the brick work

the idea of a spa retreat/ doomsday bunker combo is certainly interesting. the gate is fairly easy to bypass and there isn't even a no trespassing sign, so i'm curious if theres security that we just happened to miss that day. also, someone had previously smashed one of the bricked doorways. i'm tempted to go back this summer to see if there's any development but it's quite a far drive for me

I don't think there's any active security, some one is hoping that the gate and bricks well be enough.

I checked the gate in early April and saw that the barbed was cut (didn't go past the gate).

When I was there today noticed the wire was still cut, the same place it was a month ago.

So I don't think its being maintained or checked, could be wrong

i'll be so sad if they end up repurposing the property, the main building is absolutely gorgeous inside when the sunlight peaks through the ceiling beams and its such a cool place to poke around.

did you end up going further up the property to the building and the rubble piles where the other structures were ?
