Drain with many climbs
< on 4/7/2023 6:21 AM >

Today, a friend and I explored a drain that had some interesting features.
Even from the outfall, we knew we were going to have an exciting experience. When I first saw the blocks in front, I was quite amazed by the scale of them. (Behind you can see the bikes my friend and I would use to ride for a while inside.)

Once inside we rode for a while, but we had to leave our bikes at the second manhole where the pipe suddenly goes up 4 feet, but we still had our longboards.
We walked/rolled for a while and climbed a few more miniature waterfalls until we reached the junction room.

First, we chose to take the left path. Here, we had to climb a miniature waterfall about 4 feet high every 15 feet we walked. This repeated about 4 times until we reached the swimming pool for the daring. Neither of us were brave or stupid enough to test the waters so we soon turned back.

Once back in the junction room, we chose to take the other large pipe. This time, we brought our boards for the journey ahead. After a while we reached a manhole room with a 6 foot high waterfall and a 30 foot high ladder to the manhole. I climbed the ladder and tried to take a picture that would capture the sheer size of this ladder.

Once back down, we climbed the waterfall and continued pushing ourselves along on the boards. A couple minutes later, we reached the infall for this branch of the drain. This room contained a ~15 foot high waterfall and grates letting the sunlight filter in from above.

Thank you so much for reading this (poorly written) writeup of a drain .

Nice!

It's almost as if you got Ai to create a drain

I cannot stress enough how many drops this drain had. It was a truly crazy amount for how long the drain was and made me realize that I really need to work on upper body strength a bit more.

Very awesome find. I like me a drain with complexity. That fall ladder is the tallest I've seen, looks like a jungle gym.

Yeah, this drain looks awesome! We have a lot of bad ass drains similar to this drain you have here! I love it when other explorers post pictures of shafts with rungs and ladders, so I can see how deep the drain is! Keep up the great work! How deep do you think the shafts are in this drain? I'm very interested to know!

I am unsure how far underground it was, but many of the areas where the drain would change height were about 5-6 feet tall. I might eventually try measuring it, but sadly won't be able to for a couple weeks.

That's fine. I was just curious. I really like that you took pictures of the deep shafts! Not many people that I know don't take pictures of the deep shafts with rungs and ladders. I take a lot of pictures of deep shafts and I would like to show you sometime if you want to see them.
