New to the site so thought I'd share my first ever urbex pictures I took over 5 years ago. They were captured at Nara Dreamland in Nara, Japan... an amusement park that closed down in 2006 and was sadly demolished in 2016.
Back then, I was just a curious traveler and had no idea that I'd catch the bug and continue urban exploration as a hobby. Nara Dreamland was my gateway drug. Going in both scared the hell out of me (there were rumors that robots patrolled the park) and made me feel incredibly alive (would the rollercoaster collapse on me?). It irks me that I didn't discover urbex until the end of my many years living there.
I think I sat in that rollercoaster loop for an hour, feeling like a queen.
What type of site drew you into the urbex world?
