A house in the south end of Halifax
< on 3/14/2021 3:11 PM >

I was waiting for someone at an appointment in the south end and came upon a house, one of the front windows were broken and the power meter wasn't spinning, I went around back and the fire escape door was open, so I decided to go inside and as pleasantly surprised with a nice little abandoned home. Since this was impromtu I only had my phone.

There's about 8 buildings in that block that are going to be demo'd soon. Keep your eye on them and you'll have other opportunities.

Generally yes - those signs are required by the city for several months before amendments to the local building code. It doesn't always mean the building is going to be demo'd, but that's usually the intent.

Keep in mind, it doesn't always mean the building is unoccupied/unguarded. The amendment process takes several months, and there could be people living/working in the building the whole time.
