If you want to follow the old numbering convention, this would be MAMU IX. There was actually a MAMU IX in the planning stages at one point, although for some reason that totally escapes me now, we were calling it something else, and then it never happened anyway.

I don't think anyone's gonna care one way or the other if you use the MAMU name, but do whatever you think is best.

I think the title of it is the least of any logistical worries here lol.

Same I'm based in Maryland too.

I'm in northeast TN, right near the border of TN/NC/VA. I'd definitely be interested if I can make it! I'll probably skip the exploring and just hang out for the party.

I didn't originally create the name "MAMU", but I was one of the main organizers for quite a few of the old MAMU's including the last one. I can't speak for everyone involved, but it definitely definitely doesn't bother me if you want to call this meetup MAMU! It's been 5 years since the last MAMU - which we planned around MikMac and my wedding in Asheville in 2016!

That sounds like a good idea. I’ve always wanted to research bandos with like a bunch of people, we could find amazing locations that way. I always that of this game that would be fun where multiple people search on google maps in an area and you get 10 minutes to find an abandoned place. Then after the ten minutes, everyone who found a spot has to drive to it and explore it. The winner would be whoever found the coolest spot. Obviously it would be within a county, so you don’t drive far for nothing.

I may be a little late on this one but yes, most definitely. I’ve explored all the places that I know of from top to bottom, would love a new location. There are a couple that I’ve heard of but don’t know enough about to feel safe just rolling up alone.
