Howdy all!

I'm not new to this site, but I am new to UE in the Colorado Springs area. I just moved back from Atlanta, and have been getting back into UE lately. I haven't been able to find much in the Springs yet besides some small drains (documentation of those is in my journal,) but I've found some buildings via internet research that I plan to check out when I get the chance, as well as some promising looking entrances to bigger drains. From what I've read on here, CO Springs has the unfortunate tendency to demolish abandoned buildings pretty quickly, which really is a shame. I also want to make a trip up to Denver at some point to check out the drains there, I've heard great things.

I don't know if there are still any exploration groups active in the Springs area, but I would love to meet some folks nearby and potentially explore together (maybe once this pandemic is over). Just thought it would be nice to introduce myself, see if anyone else in the area is active!

Ah yes, the T-Gap Floodway.

The abandoned dog track is now a junkyard.

The abandoned bar a little South of N. Nevada and Fillmore has been rebuilt.

Much of the Alexander Movie Studios have been repurposed, but from what I see on Google Maps, "The Octagon" is still there.

I left Colorado Springs 30 years ago.

Yeah, it seems like most buildings in the city either get demolished or re-purposed pretty quickly, and until then most are boarded up pretty tight to prevent squatting. There's a little gas station I found on google maps that I haven't looked at in person yet, and some interesting buildings on the outskirts of town that look moderately promising. If I'm right about which building "The Octagon" is, it looks like it's being actively used as part of an automotive company now.

The floodway I've explored actually isn't the T-gap, it's more southeast from there, but I plan to make it there at some point as well! I'm glad that there are some cool drains here, 'cause that's where my primary area of interest is, anyhow.

No kidding! I've heard of gators in storm drains, but bears are a new one to me. I've seen some racoons here go into the drains, too.
