So a few weeks ago my girl had asked if I wanted to go spend a few days with her at her parents house on the other side of Lubbock. My first response was, "Hell no, that is an 8.5 hour drive!" Then I looked at my map of places to visit... "OK, I'll go." But I went up separately than her. I left Thursday night and drove about halfway so I could wake up early Friday and visit a few spots on my way, then leave Sunday drive halfway in a different direction to visit some more.
Below are photos from this 1400 mile drive across Texas. I apologize for some of the photos, quite dark in some spots, so some of them are not as sharp and clear as I would like. And the weather was crap!
My next stop was one I had been looking forward to for a long time. The old school in Indian Gap. I was very upset to only find this though. I should have grabbed a brick. 17. IMG_5995 by Neurotic Matt, on Flickr
Came across some sort of medical place next. Very small, had a lab, and one classroom, and about 6 small rooms that I assume were exam rooms, but it was all empty and pretty uninteresting. 35. IMG_6093 by Neurotic Matt, on Flickr
The next explore day was Saturday, my girls parents knew what I was into and I had expressed an interest in a couple of local buildings in thier town. Both medical facilities. Well, my girl's mom's dad was a doctor at one of them when she was a child, and then later on she worked there as well. After my girl and I found a way to get in we wandered around a bit and fond a door we could open to let her parents in. THis is the first time my girl had gone with me on an explore, and first time her parents had ever done thi sas well. I totally enjoyed having some first timers with me!
Next was Monday on the way home. I had several spots picked out, but after getting to my hotel for the night, I realized my battery charger was still plugged in 4 hours behind me. So I had one dead battery and one with about 25% charge. Did not get pics of everything I wanted to, but oh well! Still had fun.
That is the end! Congrats if you stuck through all of that! Big plus that came out of this trip for me is the fact that my gal loved it, and has already bought boots to wear for exploring.

"Well that's not a good sign"...😅 That just hit me as hilarious! These are great, hell of a nice trip; I love those churches and the medical clinics! Pianos, peely paint, old oven, sagging fan, gyms...abandoned heaven. Thanks for sharing!
