Nice explore looks like fun.

But; why paint the calipers? Youre lucky Ive seen accidents where a wheel came off the vehicle rolled and or got hit by a 70mph semi truck. Count that as youre blessing for the day!

I know people who fell asleep while driving and never woke up...

Yeah. Screwing with brakes is a really bad idea. You could have both been killed, and/or injured/killed someone else.

Because if you have a red car it goes faster, right? So if you have red calipers it stops the vehicle faster.... lmao kidding. Because red calipers look cool I guess? I had a 2008 VW GTI and it came with stock red calipers, always loved that. We have a white Ram, with a black grille, blacked out wheels etc. and he wanted red calipers. He feels really bad about it, he told me, "really you're gonna put that on the post???" He would like to forget it ever happened. We mostly pretend it didn't happen

Yes we were very lucky this day. He does all the work on his vehicles and this was the one time he messed up. Trust me, this topic can't be brought up without him kicking himself in the ass over and over. The next time he replaced his pads, he went around three times to make sure the lug nuts were tight as hell.

Im not making fun of your hubby just don't understand trying for the rally car / Brembo brake caliper look on a Dodge truck, you can buy high performance 4 piston calipers, probably red or some color etc for the truck but I guess a can of Krylon is cheaper LOL ! Anyway lesson learned glad youre not hurt.

Great story and awesome shots! That's certainly bizarre about the elevator shaft floored with wood...talk about falling asleep fast 😲! Cool set in general; I really like that pool and the rooftop shots. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! That camp out was probably 15 stories up, so it would've been a long fall down! Thankfully we didn't run into anyone in there.

This place was one of my first "big" abandonments, before the walls were taken off. Also I may or may not have used this as a place to test my vertical ropework recently

Let me know if y'all are ever in town again. Don't have many folks to explore with over here.

"No one looks up!" Universal rule of exploring, and it's really incredibly true.

Interesting write-up, thank you for sharing! You obviously put some time into this and it shows.

I hope you’ve managed to rebuild some of what you lost during Harvey. I know a lot of people that were totally devastated, both psychologically and financially from that tragedy.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and welcome to UER!

I must say, despite having explored with you many times now, you still manage to surprise me.

Edit: I decided to combine separate posts in the interest of saving space.

I never realized that because I'm always looking up! Being from a small town where the tallest structures are pine trees, I cannot get enough of the tall buildings downtown!

Thanks Dee!
I've seen many of your posts over the last two years, thank YOU for sharing!! I said in my first post on here, (really trying not to sound like a creep, here goes nothing) no one from the south is safe from my stalker like reading!
I love pictures as much as the next person, but I REALLY enjoy a story to go with, so I feel like its only fair to share exactly how my explore went down!

And Harvey...yeah that royally sucked. I've done okay for myself by now, but yes it was very rough for a minute.

Thanks for looking and commenting!

I would say "most people" don't look up. But many I know do.

Depends on how you were raised or trained I reckon.

Theres an old wives tale that deer never look up. Its probably true about half the time but if they hear something or smell something they will definitely look up.

I learned to scan all the windows when I explored in downtown Dallas, lots of people "looking down" most of the time LOL

I was in the parking lot 2 nights ago taking some cool night pictures of the exterior and could see about 3 people shinning flashlights out into the open. Was extremely obvious because it was around midnight and very dark. Guess someone called the cops on them. Probably 4 to 8 police cars showed up and inevitably coaxed them out. Didn't stick around to figure out what happened after that.
