Posted by blackhawk Beautiful and excellent first post... well done! You know what we like ![]() Welcome to UER |
Posted by skatchkins Yeah that's great stuff. I felt the isolation. Well documented. |
Posted by Abandoned Urbex Canada Thank you very much! I think I found the right place here. |
Posted by EPOCH6 Nice! I've been procrastinating a trip up to Bradian for way too long. I'm not surprised that the Chinese investment fell through, never did make sense to me. It's simply too remote and too far gone to be a viable tourist attraction. There aren't many thriving historical tourist attractions outside of the Lower Mainland, even the one's just off the highway struggle, Hell's Gate for example. I'd really like to hear what the Bralorne locals thought about that deal, suppose I better go ask them myself. |

Posted by Azazel Don't wait too long, everything up there is starting to feel the age and rapidly decay now. What's left of the pioneer is collapsing and the houses in Bradian are in pretty rough shape from the first time I went up six years ago. Another decade or two and there won't be much gold rush era stuff left anywhere in BC, sadly. |
Posted by theradioguy Absolutely phenomenal post! I've lived in BC my whole life and can't believe this is the first I've heard of this place! |
Posted by elementofone Great post! The first time I visited Bralorne and Bradian was when i was 12. My father grew up there because his dad worked in the mine. A couple years back, my dad hiked a local mountain in the are to dump his fathers ashes; on their way they found an old hospital with caskets and embalming stuff inside. It is too bad that all the houses are boarded up now. There are a couple other surrounding areas with abandoned buildings as well. |
