Hey guys I'm still here, have been very busy lately but things are slowing down finally. I'd be possibly interested in a meet, been dieing to get back out and explore again.

For all you lurkers waiting in suspense: the meet happened, cannibalism was kept to a minimum.

Check back regularly to see when we're planning the next one! If you like, drop me a message with your digits & I'll give you a nudge next time we're planning something.

Next Edmonton job for me is in March 2020 but there's always a chance another will pop up on short notice. Looking forward to the next meet up.

Pretty interested in this whole getup, just making sure that there’s more than the 11 locations that non-full members can see, right? But besides that I really wanna explore and would love a good place where I don’t have to worry about much but would still be fun.

There are other locations in the db but they can be found on google or digging through image postings from us locals. Now that the holidays are over we will try to set date for a meet and greet.

As for location hazard there always is something. A good example are abandoned farm houses which a rural photographer has recently died falling into a well. They are actually quite hazardous with old wells hidden in overgrowth, animal dens and rotted floors. Another large up tick locally I've noticed is squatters with the economy being down.

Yea, I get it. honestly I could be careful and observant I’m mostly concerned about squatters, don’t wanna have no bad encounters in somewhere where not a lot of people go. Thanks for the info!

Hey guys! Been lurking a long time, never posted though. I've been exploring solo for about 4 years now, and I've found everything from evidence of coal mines, brick factories, and paddle ships.

That being said, I'm looking to link up with this community, and find some others who share my combined interests in history and adventures! Hope to see some of you in the future.

Lets start collecting location suggestions and times people are available to meet. I'm good after 6pm weekdays or weekends, I don't know what to suggest for a location. Beer Revolution?

The rural squatter thing is definitely getting more noticeable. I went to place out by Vauxhall - door was unlocked and the house was completely bare. Went back one month later and a family with two kids had moved in. It was a pretty decrepit house with big cracks in the foundation.

I can only imagine that rural squatting will continue to rise as we plunge into another recession.

I stopped by an old house this morning that I'd been in a few times before. It's not rural but not quite in the city either. Someone had moved a fifth wheel on it and appearsd to be staying there. No house renos or anything going on.

There's a few new spots downtown Edmonton too but the squatter situation is pretty bad. So many needles now too.
