Rooftopping in Victoria
< on 1/17/2019 5:34 AM >

Hey, does anyone have any experience with roof-topping in downtown Victoria (or even vic west)? I've been out looking a few times but haven't found too much in terms of access. I've had an absolute itch for doing sunrise photography.

Welcome to the site!

There are a few people on here who live in Victoria who may be able to help you. I don't know their usernames off-hand but if you search through the different topics on the forum I am sure that you will come across some members in no time at all.

I have never done it before but I recently took and interest in rooftopping and things of that nature. Check your messages when you have a chance. 🙂

There's been a lot of scaffolding going up around town recently, including some of the more interesting taller buildings. Just watch your handholds.

not something I've really been into but some friends of mine have climbed just about every building I can imagine downtown. No clue how but it's possible for sure

theres a lot of stuff here but most of it is really only interesting if you find the building or particular area personally interesting; opening up a new angle to a site you might be familiar with from work, school, or otherwise is always a great twist since the idea that such places are more multidimensional than expected creates curiosity and wonder about your environment that you may not had previously had. So look at your life and think about some buildings that might be cool to see from another perspective? Like if you go to uvic a lot of stuff there can be climbed, like the bob wright/ Elliot building, or even cornett.

Buildings with the industrial decay vibe are cool too for similar reasons, so check out the stuff on the upper waterfront if you can find a way to do so without breaking the law.

happy trails OP I hope it works out!

Does anyone want to climb that new tallest building downtown? It looks like now is the right time before they lock it down too much

the scaffold heading up next to a certain furniture warehouse is stairs all the way! not even fully sure if its still there i climbed it maybe a month ago.

also relatively easy to climb onto a big blue building, starts with an O, access will put holes in your shoes (and foot so dont step too hard) but theres a really cool ladder to climb once youre up!!

lol i dont know why im being cryptic ive never even been on this thread before
happy Xploring ))))))))

ps has anyone climbed that crane yet???
