Abandoned Basketball Court

This was taken a while back from a cellphone before I finally bit the bullet and bought a proper camera. I did make some edits to the picture in lightroom. Despite being one of my earlier shots, I am still pretty happy with how it has aged. Any and all feedback is appreciated.

No, but I can definitely see how you could get that impression. This was taken at an abandoned school. The building itself was a bit dated, but it was closed due to a shortage of funding.

Nice shot! Composition is dope. The only critique I have would be to aim the camera juuuust slightly higher so the edge of the basketball hoop (your subject, I'm assuming) isn't so close to the edge of the shot.

Thank you! Yeah, ideally I would have shot this with a wider lens as I wanted to include the basketballs on the floor within the shot too. Unfortunately at the time I was only exploring with a cellphone so this was the best I could do. I believe the actual net does align pretty nicely with the rule of thirds, and I would say that overall the graffiti under the basketball hoop ended up being my subject more than anything else.

Thanks, it was just shot on a Galaxy S4. I would've had a proper camera if I had done this explore only a month later.

Yeah I agree, unfortunately I could not perfect this as much I would have liked. It's definitely easier with a proper camera and shooting in RAW.

Thank you. I generally strive for an urban desaturated look in my edits with an emphasis on some of the colors (mostly red in this case).
