He never said HE was the cop. Just said you argued laws with A cop. You have 1 year in criminal justice man with no experience. That’s nothing.

3 things:

1. I never said he said he was a cop. I simply said from the way he said it it could be easily construed that he was saying he was one.
2. What's my 1 year in criminal justice have to do with anything?

3. All of you making comments about Vaseline and latex gloves have some very serious issues to work out. I suggest that you get a really good respirator and high grade filters because all the fumes you've been breathing in are taking it's toll on your brain.

Two things.

1. I never said you said he was a cop. I simply said he never said he was a cop. It’s all there in writing unlike your post which has been edited about 50 times.

2. Vaseline is oily and will also possibly ruin clothes if it gets on material. I’ve never heard of an explorer lathering their hands with Vaseline and wearing rubber gloves over it. I’ve met a lot of people doing this hobby and nobody has ever done that. It’s just weird man.

So what if I edit my posts? You bringing up either of those points as if they mean something is just you being a prick and trying to use those points to discredit me. And don't even bother trying to say that isn't what you're doing either it's blatantly insinuating that the person editing is deleting things or rewording something to adjust to something else posted later on. so Quit being a prick.

What does any of that bullshit any of you are posting have anything whatsoever to do with Vaseline is an insulator? In an extreme situation can and will insulate you from the cold. So what's the problem?

I'm really tired of you rejects constantly saying "I NEVER MET ANYONE THAT DID THAT" as if that invalidates what I said about it being an insulator.
And The only people who are saying slather your hands in it are you guys. All of you are obviously somehow convinced someone is stupid enough to actually try and climb anything while their hands are coated in Vaseline which makes you dumber than an OX. No one would ever do that and I never even said any such thing.

Once again the only people to come up with the sheer stupidity level of doing half the shit you guys posted about with Latex Gloves and Vaseline ARE YOU PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM REPLYING TO THE POST. NOT ME!

I never said do anything with Vaseline and Latex Gloves nor did I say I used it or did it. So piss off with your lunatic ravings.

Those are better than the pancake and I prefer them, however if I were you, I'd upgrade your mask piece to silicone. Takes much less pressure to get a good seal and the valve on them is better.

Found one in an abandoned factory the other day. Considering the rarity of masks now, I should have taken it haha.

I have worked at reducing the load I carry, especially if I know it's a difficult mine. Depending on the situation, sometimes we will tie our bags to the ropes and pull them up. Other times we climb with them on our backs. Mo

This is typical:
Compass, whistle, jeweler's loupe, toilet paper, backup headlamp, spare batteries, dust mask, gloves, small first aid kit, water, plastic box to keep lunch from getting squished, 50' of 1" webbing, a couple of carabiners, a flashlight, assisted opening pocket knife, and my helmet.

If we are going vertical, add personal climbing gear, rigging gear, and rope. Lots of rope.

Masks need to be custom fitted.
Really without training and other protocols if you're going where you really need particle masks, you're are be exposed.
Avoid heavily contaminated areas.

Respirators are a distraction, limit visibility and endurance.
Falls and structural collapses kill and cripple instantly.
These are your primary hazards.

I've worn respirators for years occupationally.
Not fun, cool and don't want to ever have to have one on my face again...

Favorite two things I carry are my laser thermometer and laser tape measure. Makes for a much better write up when you can measure how deep you are and sometimes its fascinating to get a better idea of the geothermal gradient when draining.
