My husband I moved into a newly renovated large 2-bedroom apartment with our 4 cats on August 15, 2017, in downtown Whitby, Ontario, Canada. Literally 29 days later (September 13, 2017), the building had a fire in the attic and the roof. The smoke killed my 4 cats and the smoke and water damage was bad enough that the fire marshal decided that the building would be demolished. The fire marshal found the bodies of three of my cats (Jedi- black/white, Odin - brown tabby, and Gizmo - grey); my fourth cat, Precious - orange/white, was never found and the entire building was torn down. I was at work when this incident occurred, so I couldn't save my cats or some of my belongings.

Flash forward to mid-October 2017: I literally suffered breakdowns everyday since the fire and I just kept replaying the event in my mind. We decided that we really needed another pet in our lives, to help us heal from losing all of our other pets. We adopted two adult cats from a local animal services location.
New cats - Krissy (calico) and Purrl (Grey/white):
