Missile Silo
< on 3/6/2018 7:22 AM >

DISCLAIMER: None of these photos are mine except the last one. I love to explore and I only take pictures with my phone. This silo was too dark for me to take photos, but my explorer friend has a nice camera. These are his photos. Here is his Flickr https://www.flickr...tos/location-href/

Didn't have any issues getting into or out of this place like other people have talked about on here. It was my first silo explore. Totally awesome! Lots of rooms filled with water. Graffiti went away the further in you went.

1. Elevator shaft, looking up.

2. Panorama picture, stitched together from other photos of the power dome.

3. The big silo (the other two were much smaller), looking across

4. The silo, looking up

5. Picture from across, person for scale

6. Picture with my phone, of my friend, from a small maintenance platform towards the other end of the silo

This was a really fun trip! So glad to finally see one of these in person, even if it was filled with graffiti of questionable artistic value.

Shoot I thought I had that one, totally forgot to add it! It's the best IMO. You can't tell from the perspective in his picture, but the room we're looking into is filled with water.

Holy shit, and here I thought there weren't any of these left! Maybe someday I'll get out West and find a silo. Awesome shots.

Drool and further drool. I'd trade all the free healthcare in the world for abandoned silos, I tells ya....

Reminds me of an episode of, "Abandoned". Rick McCrank swam in a silo similar to this. Vice News is valuable.

When did you go here? I thought it was buried a few years ago. I made an attempt to go there a few years before that and a crazy lady chased us off

Yup. Probably heard a rumor started by people who don't want people to go, or the one you heard about is a different silo.

I straight up saw a news story about it. Oh well as long as it's open, that's all that matters

This silo looks like the one located in the town of Deer Creek. Not to hard to to locate via the web. It’s tucked behind a hill and if caught you will receive a citation and a mandatory court appearance. That’s what happened to a good friend of mine.

I'm always so envious of you guys out west, with all those ICBM silos. The closest we have here in the Midwest are the short range Nike silos, which don't even come close. Tell your friend those are some awesome pics.
