Boston Area Monastery

Just getting my feet at this kind of photography, I've been a live music photographer for 4 years now, so i am used to shooting in dark conditions without using flash. But let me have it on the critiques!

#1&2 are the best.
I especially like #1, getting some more cam height might have worked better in that shot.
The colors are gorgeous on #4, but...

Try to keep them squared off.
#3&4 suffer because they're aren't squared off.
Composure and framing are very important; if a shot isn't squared off it needs to be for a good artist reason(s).
It's disorienting and detracts for the images otherwise.

You should see if upping the contrast on the 4th one looks any good.

The first and second had the most promise but are definitely not the best.

I would say the best is 3 although it does need to be squared up a little.
What I love so much about 3 over the others is it's tonality and color. With the first two they're fine but could really have benefited from different lighting and HRD/bracketing. Imagine that great big room either during sun rise or sun set depending on the way those windows are facing and not having anything clipped? it would be amazing!

That's an excellent suggestion, I actually just started getting into bracketing shooting and this would definitely be a great place to get more practice on that.

I'm also very lucky on this location because it's actually a short walk from where I live and grew up so it's something I could get to without much hassle if I found a day with a particularly favorable weather setting.

I'm actually moving to Boston in the next month and would love to check the place out, do you mind sharing where it is and how hard it is to get in?

I shoot mostly 4x5 film on a monorail camera so its often a challenge finding locations I can get a 20 pound suitcase into lol

i am no photo expert, i am no one judge. (just looking for advise in comments) but 1 and 2 look a little over exposed love 3 and 4. 3 looks tilted. but maybe the light is playing an illusion due to time of day. 4 is a nice photo.

(but what randomly stuck out to me was number 3. on the right hand side sitting on the benches looks like an old woman with white hair, some what looking down at the ground.)
