Would Love to get some Feedback on my Photo Technique

Hey all, I'm fairly new to the site and I have never posted photos for critique. I haven't been out taking pictures in awhile, so these are old, but they are some of my favorites. I would very much appreciate some constructive criticism, because often I feel like I could have taken much better photos at locations.

Any feedback is helpful! I'm particularly looking for input on composition, framing, and the role of the subjects in the image.

Last one was shot on (if I can remember) 200 speed film on an SLR, and the lighting was not optimal, which is why it is so low contrast.

Anyway, thank you guys! Hoping to get out again in a couple weeks!

First one is best because it's sharpest and looks the best composed. That said, it could be way better. There are various things you could do to improve its composition, starting with the positioning of the model, maybe to actually pose her or have her shadow do something interesting, or silhouette her better in the window. You could crop it more tightly, maybe taking 1 cm off the left and cropping the right so there are only two eyes, which could be more striking.

What you should really do, rather than try to shoot the space in sub-optimal lighting conditions, is try to shoot the light. Try different times of day if necessary. This place with a tripod an hour before sunset might look a lot better. Not knowing more about it, if it is low-risk, you could try light-painting it at night if you have a tripod.

#1 was the one that originally caught my eye.
Well framed and composed... with a pretty girl.

#2 fell apart on you; too much clutter and I assume the chair was the subject. If so, not completely in the frame, and a better angle could have been had. Remember to take full advantage of your cam shooting height; use any height from floor to ceiling, whatever gets the best shot composure.

#3 I like a lot despite some flaws; it has impact.

#4 is a great shot, I love the huge open spaces and the concrete columns.
Great subject, cam position, composition and framing.
My only criticism is the group positioning; positioning is too symmetrical.
Read/study up on music album cover member staggering.
It is an art form in its self. Maybe the person on the right should be a about 5 feet closer to the cam, looking towards it.

I have no comments on film speed, exposure and the related horrors of film shooting. I'm not familiar enough with film shooting to give a fair and accurate assessment.
Obviously there is little post processing.
This could improve the images,
however I like the rawness of them especially #3.
The whole shooting into the light of #1 & #4 I like a lot as well.

This one was not staged at all, so I agree it definitely could have been improved had my friend posed. Also could have been centered more with either cropping or the angle of the shot. I did take this one right before sunset, but it's worth going to this place during other times of day and experimenting with the lighting. Some things to think about next time I go.

Angle is kind of tilty in that picture; it makes the room look small. Something to work on for sure.

I see what you mean regarding group positioning in #4. Another opportunity to position the subjects a bit more thoughtfully.

I appreciate your input! I'll be thinking about these ideas next time I visit a location.

The last 2 pictures are very grainy, and it's harder to make out details. I'd guess it's either photo editing or dust.

I think they could use some very faint colouring that would give them some more appeal, but they are well executed
