Critiques welcome!
< on 1/23/2017 5:18 PM >

Hello folks, basically looking for any advice here. I'm still getting the hang of post processing in lightroom but I really prefer the subtle & natural look when it comes to editing. I don't like to get too heavy with it. I appreciate any pointers/critique.

Watch your lines. I'd straighten 1,2 and 4 and maybe crop 4 more like this:

The stairs aren't bad but I suck at shorting stairs.

Exactly.
Get in the habit of square off your shots unless you a good artist reason not to do so...
The stairs is sort of working in the last shot, but the first one should have the lines on the corners and show the top step and landing.
Pan back and get more height; stand on something if you must.

Welcome to UER

Thanks for the kind words and advice folks, much appreciated. I see what you're saying about the composition. I'll mess around and see what I can do.

It's funny I actually cropped that photo just like that but I wasn't sure which one I liked better. Thanks!

Edit: Keep finding crops I like better, so far I like this one the best I think, with the door trim fully in the photo.

At the time I was using a Nikon D7000 with the Tokina 11-16 2.8. Now I have a Canon SL1.
