Exhibit: Montreal Signs Project

Some of you local history nerds will dig this. It's presented in Concordia's Communication Studies and Journalism building on the Loyola campus in NDG, until next Friday January 27.

And another sign-related story:

That sign is currently on display at the McCord as part of the Notman exhibit which runs until Sunday March 26.

Neon signs are soon to be a lost art
As commercial use declines, the price for specialty supplies like transformer/ballasts, cathodes, etc will increase making it harder and more expensive to do. Sad to see neon's soft charm replaced with the harsh glare of LED's panels jacked up to maximum output.

I hope I'm wrong... neon is unique and beautiful.

It's kind of sad, looking back, to see what used to be there and is now gone.
