Important note about videos
< on 10/29/2014 7:23 PM >

Everyone, please edit out any point of entry details or scenes from your videos. Revealing point of entry details has for a long time been frowned upon to reveal entry details.

So going forward, please DO NOT reveal entry details in your video.

With video, the only option we have is to delete the entire video. We have no way to edit out a single part of it. So please try to keep POE details out of the videos to avoid the possibilities have having it removed.

what if the whole first floor is an entrance?
what if the poe has changed or been sealed up completely?

I'm trying to avoid making this more complex than it has to be. If the whole first floor is wide open, or the entrances are obvious and all over the place (Packard for example), then I can't see it being a problem. If it's an entrance that would otherwise likely not be noticed, then yeah there would probably be an issue. '

Let's all just use some common sense and 95% of the time it will be a non-issue.

Best common sense approach in my opinion is just don't show entrance details at all. Whether its video, photos, or in a post.

detroit is a different beast. almost everyone knows every entrance to everything.
i can, in the future, not show entrances, but a lot of my old stuff shows the poe. its usually the front door....not too hard to find at all.

however, most of my videos are older and the poe i show no longer exists. or the building has been renovated.
hell, my northville videos show a couple poe's, but you have to get on the property first, and THATS the trick.

im not trying to make this hard, i just have some good videos that do show the poe. i dont wanna get in trouble for showing a wide open front door on a building thats now being renovated and theres NO way in, especially if the video is like 7 years old.
most of my videos are old. i have a busted up back and rarely get out.

Speaking for just what I assume is the whole point of this rule:

I think you answered yourself man If you're using common sense, then none of that stuff you just mentioned would matter. All your old videos should be fine, especially If it's been renovated.

Correct me if i'm wrong but the whole point of the no POE rule on UER is to not spoil the fun for others seeking access to the same location, and to make sure it's not TOO easy. If it's gaping doorways or it's not even there anymore, than show it away because it's not going to affect in any shape or form, the way someone else explores that place in the future.

Follow the spirit of the law. Not the letter.

cool.
most of the places i have video of are no longer there, in use, or sealed up.
with my back like this, it takes a handful of prescription pain killers, prescription weed, and LOTS of booze.
as for skyscrapers, im done with them. i also have sciatica (which causes severe pain and/or numbness in my left leg). i also have emphysema. so obviously, i dont get out much anymore. last time i did a 'scraper, i thought i was gonna die. i asked everyone in the group if anyone knew cpr lol. (my inhaler did the trick though)

for future videos, i wont show the poe. but like i said, everything here is blown up due to newbs, elitism ("look where ive been and you cant go" or "i was first!"), or the flat out "i dont give a fuck" attitude.
its really bad when a person has all 3 of those traits (you know who you are).

Just exactly what AdventureDan said. No one has done anything wrong. We just haven't ever had to address POE on video because it's been such a small part of the site, until recently. I'm very glad to see people posting more vids. I love watching them.

R3d your videos you've done in the past are fine. If it's a renovated place, or an extremely wide open place like the ones you point out, just make a note of that in the description of the video.

I may watch your videos sometime just because I want to watch them. But as far as whether they violate any rules, don't sweat it man. Just going forward everyone should avoid POE as much as possible.

If my videos show POE it's generally because the location is either gone or being demolished

Hello! All but one of my videos show the POE, but for one I recently found that the location has since been torn down. It was an active construction site, so I drove past it the other day, and it's been leveled. If I specified this in the post, would that be okay? The location is Splashtown San Antonio, and my channel name is lonelystarstate. Thank you!
