I've been exploring for a while, but never heavily involved in this forum. Here's a small bit of my work for those interested. Like everyone else, I'm looking to do better. I try not to take a heavy hand with editing. Perhaps I should?

I don't know too much about photography yet. I can tell you though that the third one looks great! I love it! The first two seem somewhat to be missing something. I'm not sure what it is, but they didn't really grab my attention. But from what I can tell you have the talent and creative mind for photography. Keep it up

The first picture lacks contrast and is a tad off-centre. The second one isn't straight and has lens distortion. You can correct for that, to an extent, in lightroom. The third picture is brilliant, I wouldn't touch it a bit.

The first one is a bad exposure but it can be manipulated post process. It's a bad exposure because:
The range of contrasts from light to dark are washed out and very limited, and as a result it loses depth and detail. Black appears only in the background railing and all the whites are up in the sky, which has lost all detail due to being over-exposed.
You might not be able to rescue the sky, (unless you are good at faking it post- process) but you can add more contrast to the entire image and darken it a bit to enhance the depth and differences between contrasting colors.
The other two are just fine since the color saturation is not too much or too little. I'm not sure what you were aiming for in the second shot but parts of it might be out of focus. It depends on where you intended things to be in focus versus where you intended them to be out of focus.
An aperture up around f16 or higher with a longer exposure and ISO at 100 will usually bring it in nice and clear all across the picture plane. Ok, I'm rambling.

No! Thank you! This is actually insanely helpful. I love taking pictures, but I'm by no means great at it yet. Plus, I've been getting on the lazy side which is why I'm seeking some constructive feedback.
For the second one, I *tried* to edit it to look like a painting, but I'm not huge on editing to begin with. I'd rather just have a good base and adjust the colors/exposure as needed.

#3 is definitely the best shot, good composition and focus. The highlights on the chain are a little blasted -> thats where editing comes in. Personally, I'm gung-ho on creative editing, but so much to correct a poorly made image. I think fiddling with lighting is totally ok, and will really make a well made image stand out over others.
