Won't be helpful feedback but I like the pictures. Sometimes b/w bothers me because people use it as just another filter. Your #1 doesn't do that, looks great.

I think your BWs are great. Some people tend to do the conversion and lose texture, but in all of the photos you posted, you still have that. I also think that you did a good job of not being too dark in your blacks and too light in your whites. You have a good balance.

Thanks you two. I think black and white conversions are about the grays. And tonal palette. With your highlights and and blacks making compliment to the mid tones.
My goal is to try to make it a bit filmic. It's too easy to see black and white digital. It looks overdone. I guess I should just start shooting blackandwhite film. One of these days.

Black and white film is pretty cheap and easy to do if you process on your own. If you look it up online and buy all the stuff you can get some nice stuff after a few tries.

The tonality in 2+ are beautiful - I love really "creamy" black and whites. I see a lot of texture in #1, but I still think it looks flat. Not fond of this on as a black and white.

I like your photos a lot! Your exposure and composition is generally very good. My least favorites are #1, and 6. I personally find the subjects less interesting, and im not sure if b&w helps this. I really love 2-5, but I think a slight pan to the left would be good for #2. The little sliver of tile draws me away from the rest of the image. Hope this helps, it was hard to find anything wrong with them haha.

So my only very small nit picks are that 2 and 4 have some hot spots that I find a little distracting, however if you pulled them back it may take away from the composition so I think it's the best as is in the end. Great set

these are some beautiful b&w's! that is what i primarily shoot. i use film ( i dont know if you said that you did or not), but you have great contrast especially in 2+, true blacks and true whites with some nice grey. all in all great photos.

First of all, great shots! I like how the B&W accentuates the shadows. As far as post-processing goes you might want to consider increasing or decreasing the contrast in some of these. Also, in photoshop you can choose the darkness of each color when converting it to black in white. Try bumping up the clarity as well if you shoot in RAW. Overall, fantastic work and your shots are great without these adjustments.. just something to consider for the future
