Posted by fornaz The fist two pictures are my favourites. For an HDR set, they are very well done, there's very little hallowing that I can see and it's not too over the top, at least not in the smaller selection you posted here. There's something weird with HDRs like this, they're probably much closer to what the human eye actually sees, yet you can instantly spot that it's an HDR, there's an uncanny feeling to it. It's kind of a cool effect, if that's what you're going for, and again these are some of the better examples of HDR i've seen, but I'd try giving them a bit more contrast, or at least lower the exposure a bit and get the shadows nice and dark. |
Posted by randomesquephoto Ditch the hdr and you've hot some nice shots. I feel more natural looking shots actually represent the scene better in abandonds. The grittyness, texture, complexness of shadows, and a hist of other interesting elements get list when you process like that. |
Posted by azuro1125 I like the first one the best, but they all look pretty great. I might be the odd one out on this, but I love HDR! Not only the keyed down, natural enhancement styles, but also the punched up, over the top HDR that almost seems melodramatic. The latter looks best on graffiti and newer abandonments, where you can really make the colors jump out. I can also relate with randomesque as well, in that you sometimes want to capture the natural reality of the scene without a lot of post processing taking away the raw nature of it. Good set all around, nice work! |
Posted by AdventureDan Very well composed and exposed. I like the HDR feel of these photos and agree with what others have said. However I feel you should lengthen the radius on the detail just a bit, and maybe bump the strength down just a tad, as i believe the detail is too sharp in the small texture. Especially on that last one where the peeling paint and dirt pops really strong. In my opinion it detracts from the overall image. But other than that these are great. Everyone has their own style, but that's just my thought. |
