Urban exploring at an abandoned sea fort.

So there is an old Sea Fort near me that was never finished or used much. You have to take a canoe about a half mile out to access it. This place is incredible, thousands of birds live here, mostly untouched by humans for decades. The whole island smells of fish from the birds feeding their young. Truly feels like stepping into another world for a bit. Enjoy! And let me know what you think.

Neat shots.
I was actually thinking about checking the place out when I'll be in the area in a couple of months; was it difficult getting out to the island?

Looks like an awesome place! I really like that one photo of the corridor with the guy at the end.

I think getting a sharper focus and spending more time on composition would be really helpful for you work. Like make sure every line is where you want it, i.e. parallel with the frame, 45o angle, etc. Quite a few looked slightly off, at an awkward tilt, if you like an off-kilter approach, i think exaggerating the difference more would work well. Also, a tripod would be awesome for inside, maybe try some bracketed shots and HDR or blending.

I think it's absolutely beautiful! I have a weak spot for those places that animals completely took over, and where birds fly all around you. I wish more of that would be posted here.

But as this is the critique section, here goes. It's a bit much so I'll pick a few.

#1 Could use lens correction in Photoshop to straighten the vertical lines. But next time, try to go down a bit while taking such a shot to prevent crooked lines. Also, it could use some contrast imo.

#2 Would be better a few steps back.

#6 Would be awesome if you stood in the center of that room, making it symmetrical.

#16 I now see that it's the 'better version' of #2, so I'd ditch #2 and keep this one. Still, a little bit is cut off at the bottom. I'd prevent this at all costs. I don't know which lens you use, but maybe it's not wide enough for tight spaces?

#18 Has a bit of motion blur, so your shutter speed was a bit too slow. Not much you can do about it anymore.

But overall, good job, keep on shooting

Thanks for the tips everyone!

The island is not too difficult to get out to if you have a decent canoe. Can be a bit exhausting to paddle all that way, so go slow or have a friend help out.

I plan on using a tripod for more shots in the future. Lots of the stuff I do is low light so I have to use a slower shutter speed.

I will eventually also get some better wider angled lenses, right now I just have my stock lens.

Thanks for the critique and you should see some more photos from me very soon.

Unless you did it on purpose the first photo seems to be off set with the pillars? so I would maybe try and make that a little straighter so the walls on the first arch is a little bit more equal. Just my opinion. Keep plugging away!

#1 was #1 for me very cool. could have someone at the end of the row to add a lil bit of flare
