Posted by cambrianguy This thread rocks. Love all the pics and talk of the remote areas of Ord. Have always been interested in those areas. |
Posted by Talisman Really glad you like it Cambrianguy. The best part about exploring this place is that you never know what you will stumble upon. There's always something new (old) to discover. I freakin love just being out there in the rural areas and wondering what's behind the next tree or over the next hill, and I hate that there are people just waiting to destroy all of that. |
Posted by rescueme1060 Talisman: Hotels? But didn't the president make this a national landmark a few months ago? |
Posted by cambrianguy Ya, I hear ya. Way too much commercialization going on our there. Every new development project I see out there gets stalled so long before it ever gets completed (if ever). |
Posted by rescueme1060 jeeeeez thats a humongous amount of redevelopment, I'm looking at the satellite overview of what they plan to build right now from the link...as long as they somehow keep the historical aspect of Ord alive or make it so that visitors will always be aware of the history and backstory... then I see this as a good thing for the economy and California |
Posted by Talisman Well, the East Garrison project is back on track. Construction is underway again. We'll see how that turns out I guess. |
Posted by decrepitude Here ya go brother. |
Posted by rescueme1060 could be your new profile avatar perhaps? |
Posted by Talisman You know I never used to care about this stuff before. I think I became kind of attached to the place at some point. |
