Posted by JohnsAwesome Hey all, my name's John and I live up in Southern Maine. I'm not much of a photographer, but I may have to start after seeing some of the sweet photos people here get. I've been an "urban explorer" for about four years or so (on and off) now, although back then it was more of a "hey, we're bored so let's check out this abandoned place" type thing. I'm hoping to find some people in the New England area who know some awesome places because I'm trying to find more, and hopefully on some of my adventures over the next few months, I can find some to share as well!

Hey! Im in new england as well, welcome! Hope you've found this site useful so far? I just joined here last week, I really just want to see which locations are here and which aren't, plus find others I may not be aware of! I dont mind a long drive for a good explore, but closer is better of course! 👊✨

I must tell you, in the DB, Basic members can only see locations that are marked publicly viewable and/or demolished. Full members see all.

I noticed that! I can only become a full member by being as active as possible here though..so I gotta start somewhere.

Hey! Name's Tom. I've been using this site a bit on and off to try and find some cool places to go in CT and Mass, and only recently decided to make an account after discovering that there are hidden areas for full members. I've discovered a few places on my own, and seek to either post about them here, or to find them and add to their pages! I have quite a bit of drive to explore these places and am very interested in abandoned warehouses mostly. I was actually fortunate enough to visit a few places soon before they were demolished, and will post pictures/video of stuff like this as I either find it, or am inclined to do so. Hope to be pleased with the site, you guys seem pretty awesome.

Posted by Rusher Hi everyone! I'm an urban explorer from the Finger Lakes, NY region. I've been into it for a couple of years now starting in college but I'm new to this site. If you're in the area or near Rochester or Syracuse, hit me up. I try to get out there as much as possible and would love to explore with some new people.
|
Welcome to UER, always nice to see another explorer from around my area. I'm always out exploring central/western NY and my group and I have been meaning to do some more around the Finger Lakes at some point (I've got family in Geneva and Seneca Falls). I know a decent number of locations in Rochester and Buffalo, so feel free to drop me a message if you're interested in visiting anything out this way.

Posted by lovelife hello all! I am nick and I am a photographer. I just recently found this site a couple weeks ago and I must say, I haven't been this interested in any thing as neat as UE in quite a while. I am terribly fascinated with the thought of seeing the way things were like before the time of outsourcing and most of our modern-day bullshit products. I am in the denver area and would love do do some exploring. PM me if interested in exploring.
|
Welcome to UER, Nick!! I remember feeling the same way when I first started venturing into abandoned buildings (before I even knew there was a UE community). You will fit in here will if you are a photog, around 70% of the content here is photography related. You should post some of your adventures on one of the regional or photography forums. Enjoy the site! -S4H
The Durango '95 purred away a real horrowshow - a nice, warm vibraty feeling all through your guttiwuts. And soon it was trees and dark, my brothers, with real country dark. |

Hello all! I am very happy to have found this site and can't wait to start networking. A little about myself... I live in Henderson, Colorado and currently work full time as a professional photographer. I am married, have a daughter and another on the way. Not currently in school but planning on getting a degree in either photography or video production and pursuing a career in one of those fields. A little about my involvement in UE... I am relatively new to urbex. I found out about it earlier this year through a friend, and have since jumped in with both feet. I say relatively new as I have been a paranormal investigator(Spirit Trackers Paranormal Investigation Team) since 2011, and the researching and exploration of locations intrigued me more than the investigating for paranormal activity itself. My team has gone to some places that the general public generally never saw(old solitary confinement cell and a bunker under a restaurant in Ft. Collins) as well as investigated a building in an almost abandoned town(Leyden, CO) and I fell in love with exploring the locations. I didn't know there was actually a field/group for exploring places until my friend introduced me to urban exploration. I have combined my passions of photography, film making and urban exploration into a YouTube channel called Urbex Colorado. I also am admin of a group on Flickr called Urbex Colorado as well, and would invite any fellow Colorado urbexers to join and share your photos! I strive to provide high quality photos and video to document and preserve the history and existence of the unseen, abandoned and forgotten places in my favorite and home state. Happy exploring and stay safe and smart! -Daniel- aka Mac 1.

Hey All, I'm not really a "new member" but I've been on a UE hiatus for quite some time(i think 04' or 05'). I recently had my UE fire stoked and am trying to get back into the swing of things. I cant think of a better way to start than some armchair exploring plus a few weekends out there hitt'n new spots plus a few old ones. Any way its good to see some old profiles plus a lot of new ones- Good to be back-

sounds exactly like me! I signed up because I want to share the spots I've found with other explorers, as well as see what is here, I also explore in MA, as well as southern NH (and did a little in concord NH last week) maybe just meeting others in the area will help us make some new discoveries, it seems like it will be quite a while before I can become a 'full' member of this site.

Wow, dated thread. New to the site, not new to the experience. Anyone else in Iowa around here? Not a lot of places left after they cleared out from the flood, but I still have hit a few older commercial and industrial locations. Hit me up if you're looking for someone to explore with! -Plock

As do I. I like the photography in the ones that follow, but #1, I find personally offensive. [ However, I know it takes all kinds to make the world go round.]

Nice to meet everyone. I am just a lurker of the website, enjoying the galleries - urban exploration is fascinating to me, but I am too physically unwell to participate in the actual hobby. (But you all bring me joy from the stuff you publish for the rest of us to see!) Ironically I was first brought upon the fascination by the fact my Grandma was a genealogist and had moved into a house that was right next to an ABANDONED Isle of Man immigrant cemetery. I was around eight at that time, but I still remember her documenting the otherwise 'lost' place. So, thank all of you for what you do find for the rest of us to see, especially those of us who can't physically make these explorations. Keep up the great work! The best I can contribute, sadly, is just a few locations I know of in the countryside as a kid. Sorry for being otherwise useless.

Hey all. Found this site through a mixture of alcohol and youtube. I've lost track of how many videos I've watched about Urbex. I've always been interested in exploring and have gone a few places with my buddies. We haven't done anything too extreme. Just mostly some rooftops and trying to get to the top of higher and higher buildings. Something about being somewhere you probably aren't supposed to be has a strange appeal to it. I'm not sure how many good places there are in Iowa to explore. If anybody is willing to share some spots I'm all ears. : )

Hey everyone, southeast Georgia chick here just saying hello and introducing myself. I'm a photographer, mixed in with a bit of an explorer, followed by a sprinkle of a road tripper so this in itself is the perfect forum for me. I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now and have seen some pretty awesome finds. I should have some of my own uploaded soon. Cheers folks!
