What exactly....is your "area"?

Yeah, just a hint for beginners that are hoping to meet up with folks in their local area... Add your city and state to your profile! We know that you want to use some edgy little play on words as your location but no one has a clue where you actually are so they can't contact you to set up a trip. Right?

I'm stunned how often I see that. Sheesh.

I would imagine that if you are from the area that uses the bizarre abbreviation to describe itself, you would recognize it, and the therefore the objective would have been achieved.

It is still annoying as shit.

ahhh Would you two get a room already and kiss each other's asses privately! ;)-

But seriously, that was an easy abbreviation to be so snarky about...

And on a more relevant note - HELLO to all the new people!

When you say "you two" did you mean, Me and Abby, or Me and MutantM, or Abby and MutantM, or ??? Cuz there were at LEAZST three people who agreed on that one.

Oh, and HELLO! to all the n00bs out there!

Well, I could add one state and city, but I go between 2 states and 5 different cities every week. And like Mutant said, people from here would recognize the abbreviations. As far as it being annoying as shit, that's an opinion, not fact. Everyone's got their own pet peeves.

No matter where I go or what I do, I'll always be just me.

Hi all - my name is Ericka and was happy to find UER, a place where people who like exploring are all organized. I'm in Edmonton, AB and interested in learning more about the city and its history through its urban scars, which are often quite beautiful. I've always gone into random, usually abandoned, places when I've traveled and like the idea of planning some explorations.

Naw, it's totally a fact. It's not a pet peeve, it's just annoying as fuck, on a very broad scale.

Hello everyone, I am novamike from Indianapolis. Yes I do own a nova. I am a married 45 yr old. I have liked to explore things unknown most of my life. Like a lot of the posts I have read, I never knew people were dedicated to this. I linked to this site after finding" Standing but not operating" just looking for roller coasters. I used to be fascinated with Riverside park as a young un. It was abandoned, but I wanted in at 10. I have no official picture taking sneaking inside experiences yet. I once worked in a 3 story 100 year old building that had a lot of stuff scattered on the upper floors. I explored the hell outta that building. I explored an old falling apart high school as a young teen. An abandoned "haunted house" as a 15 year old. I like to spelunk. I am not afraid of tight spaces ;) I would like to meet up with some people in my area who are into UE and have experiences. Cheers!

Hi!

I am a new member here, and also new to urban exploration.

Actually haven't ever visited an abandonned place (of the urban type) yet. Planning on going very soon but ain't exactly sure on how to go about it (I don't know many of those places around where I live).

Think I'll just give it a try at one of the locations I know of and will learn as I go.

My main interest in this type of activity is of the artsy kind. I'd like to take pictures of some sites I'd visit, maybe stage photoshoots in there and get inspiration from it for my paintings and scultpures. I am a fan of industrial and biomechanical aesthetics and I figure I could get some good inspiration in that type of activity.

Would also be into meeting other people from Montreal.

Hi, I'm Nathan. I live in Seattle, I work a 9-5 job downtown, and I have a B.S in photography. I've loved exploring pretty much my entire life--my dad used to take me into houses that were under construction. I'd like to branch out and see some buildings in the later stages of life, rather than just the newborn phase.

I second what Aliksir said, but I also enjoy exploring for exploring's sake.

Hey guys, my name's Lucas. I'm 17 years old and from Vancouver, B.C. I have 6 friends that I do all my exploring with and we call ourselves Flareodactyl. (I have no clue why)

We started our exploring almost a year back pretty much exploring abandoned houses and stuff like that in our neighbourhood. This summer, however, one of us decided to try to explore Riverview and, since then, we haven't really looked back. We really enjoy taking the road less traveled and our trips to Crease Clinic and West Lawn were by far the highlights of our summer. I'm so glad I found UER though, because I'm very interested in interacting with people that have similar interests to me and my friends. My friends and I am always up to explore pretty much anything if anyone wants to or go to any conventions if one is being held. Anyway, I am really stoked to be part of the UER community and am going to try to contribute to it as best as I can. If anyone wants to contact me, feel free to PM me!

P.S. We all also really enjoy cliff jumping too in the Summer and we have a video on YouTube. So if anyone wants to get to know us a little, you can watch our video if you'd like. There's also a shot in it of some of us jumping off McBarge.

Greetings everyone. I'm a new member, from Greece.
I always found UE fascinating, but especially the post-apocalyptic genre. I could look at ruined scenery and landscapes forever with the fitting music
I have pretty much exhausted the genre, in terms of games/movies/books, and I always wanted to go exploring but sadly I don't have any friends passionate about it as me.
I've managed to go UEing a couple times and it was pretty awesome.
For now I will stalk your pictures and hopefully in the future I'll have some to contribute too

my name is Fauna. I used to inhabit the Chat quite often under the handle Engel. (I'd truly appreciate if you would call me Fauna)

I am hoping to get back into exploring, further my photography knowledge and make some friends to do both with.

Nice to meet you, I'm Simon. I'm an artist in Savannah, GA. Before moving here I've been exploring Miami, FL lightly with friends. I'm hoping to delve deeper into this hobby, so I've decided to participate in this community! I like to personally feel the scale of various environments and places and take pictures.
