Posted by _F7_ I'm not new to the exploring hobby, just new to the website/sharing aspect. I'm mostly active in the Houston and Katy area. I like checking out buildings being demolished, abandoned agricultural processing and storage buildings, tunnels, and rooftops. Recently, I donned climbing gear with a buddy and ascended ~190 ft of ladder in a dead elevator shaft to get to the top of an abandoned tower. I, unfortunately, have not been a good photographer primarily for paranoid reasons. Reading on this forum a bit has alleviated some of my concern, so I'll post some images that a friend took on a particularly fun trip.

This is sooooooo great! It is actually named "Draka" and it spits fire! We were lucky enough to get to see it at Flipside. The artist is Lisa Nigro you can find it by Googleing lisanigro.com.

Hey, I'm frank. I live in Ottawa Ontario Canada. I am mostly a tunnel rat. If I see a drain entrance on a cave or a tunnel you betcha I'm going in. I post often on the Ontario section of threads.

Hi All, New member here but not new to 'UE'. Always had an interest in exploring ruins, mostly in non-urban areas though. Probably my ideal would be a picturesque site such as a coastal fortification or ruin in a desolate area on a mountain near the sea. I've done a lot of 'bunker spelunking' in various parts of S England and SW Germany and in N California and Hawaii. My most amazing exploration was to the Sutter Buttes Titan I missile silo complex near Colusa, CA. I went there three times between 2000-2004 and got into the tunnel system twice via rappelling the exhaust silo and power dome. Went back with some friends 2 years ago (2010) and discovered that the grating that had been pulled back to allow entry was welded shut AND about 10 tons of concrete blocks placed atop it.... I don't know what the status is currently but would love to try and get in there again. That was like the holy grail of underground exploration! I'm also curious to explore other sites around SF, CA, though I've already been in most of the Marin Headlands bunkers multiple times. If anyone is up for an adventure, I would like to get into the WWII harbor defense command post located in the Presidio which may actually be accessible (though shielded with vast quantities of poison oak). Attached is an image from last summer (June 2011) of the escape shaft from Battery 129 in the Marin Headlands that the NPS felt compelled to seal (before I got to check it out... ) (mod edit: POE photo removed) Cheers, kilolima

Hey y'all, I'll start off by saying I'm pretty excited about being a member in this forum. When my friend introduced me to it, I was stoked to get involved. I've done a little exploring since I started back when I was like 13. I wandered into an old abandoned chicken slaughterhouse as a kid and made it about 50 feet inside before I chickened out, no pun intended. Since then, I've toured a few houses, an old hospital and some empty businesses. I've lived in East Texas most of my life and am surprised to find so little in the area. There is a lot of abandoned property in this region and I look forward to helping y'all map it out. Thanks for having me, Plainbored

My name is Ben and I currently live in Silver Spring, Maryland. Urban Exploration has interested me for a while, though I admit that it's rare that I get to actually do it, and then tread extremely lightly when I do. Interested in potential urban exploration sites within day trip range of the Washington DC region.

Just call me Ronin. I am from the Los Angeles area. I am not new to exploring the landscape we have at all. I did a lot of it while I was in the military. I am glad to have found a group of like minded people who share in this fascination with me. One of my more notable explores was while on Truman Annex in Key West. A group of us decided to check out some old ammo storage that was the base. There wasnt too much there to really check out since they had no power going into them, and it was night time out. This exploration though led us to sneak into the Fort Zachary Taylor State park, and explore that while we had the cover of night to protect us. We were able to see, and look at a lot of things that I dont think most people get to really see up close, and personnel. I have a few photos from that night that I will scan and share later on. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
