My names Tasha and I'm a 20 y/o female that's new to exploring. I used to go hiking all the time and borrow my aunts Nikon D3000 and after a few year I finally decided to buy myself my own DSLR. That's when I started to really get into photography and places to capture. I've only recently discovered urban photography but I've come to love it. Discovering places that have been forgotten and then later learning the history of the place is incredible to me. I've always loved history but actually being able to see a place that people have forgotten about makes me excited. I hope I can make friends through here and get help about learning about different techniques to use with my camera. I still get confused with a picture and shutter speed settings lol It's nice to meet all of you tho!

Sure are.. wondering why i can only get acces s to demolished stuff on here

It’s a matter of trust since it’s kinda promoting trespassing if they were to just put up the good shit for everyone to see

Welcome to the forum, SpectorLens! The D3000 is a solid little cam! The best one is the one in your hand. I too hope you can find some awesome people in your area to explore with! Check out our Photography section and take in all you can! PM me with any specific simple camera or Nikon questions.. I have a solid set of eight lenses and six Nikon bodies.. Happy shooting!

Hey PecanTrees, Sprizzyboy44! You're sort of right! By being on the site we sort of already promote trespassing, even though we know full well it's illegal. I mean.. *cough cough*... don't trespass. Your mother will be mad. The UE DB, which is what I'm assuming you're referring to, is largely limited to full members. Spend some time here, meet some folks local to you, get to know us, show us what YOU'VE discovered, and once you have some rapport on the forum, you'll be a shoe-in for Full Member status! Read the Rookie Forum and learn all you can! Be safe out there and go find some sh*t that nobody else has! Lastly, yes, only demolished locations are available to basic members (and the public, and search engines) because folks that put in the hard time to find those gems don't want them to just fall to the hands of law enforcement or scrappers, taggers, etc. Feel free to use the search function for anything you can't find, or PM someone that seems trustworthy who you'd like to get to know better. Again, welcome, and I wish you both all the best in your exploring adventures!

Good call on the name change, though Chernobyl is not really a groundbreaker to anyone here, either. Few of us did when we signed up - I'm surprised I didn't sign up sooner. Like most, I was exploring before I found the site. Let us know if you have any questions! Read my post just above yours re: rookie forum, etc.

Hey all, I’m Alex and I live in Boulder, CO. What a fantastic site and resource! I’ve been into UE for forever but didn’t know it had a name until recently. I’ve mostly explored drainage tunnels and some ghost towns/mining structures in the mountains. I really want to find some new buildings to explore, get better at photography, and map some of the tunnel systems in the Colorado cities. Great to find out that there are so many other people into exploring abandoned places, hoping to contribute to the community and looking forward to learning more here!

Hi everyone! I’m Tristus and am from the Midwest. I love exploring and follow the motto “leave only footprints and take only photographs.” I also like to ask permission when I can and get quite a few people agreeing to let me on their property. I’m not super strict about that but I enjoy a friendly yet cautious approach to urban exploration. I don’t yet have photographers insurance or even the best equipment but I love my gear all the same. It will be good for me to share some of my work here eventually. Nice to meet you all. I realized I bought a book a few years ago that I’ve seen on here called “Access All Areas” so I thought this might be a good resource for me.

Hey folks, I'm Zack and I live in the SF Bay Area. Used to do a lot of hiking around the hills and exploring military ruins in the area. I'd love to get back into exploration of the urban and local semi-rural environment. Hope to see some good stuff soon!

Hey Riley! Welcome! Nice Flickr! Looks like a lot of photos on the *outside* of things, though You should keep up this "wearing a suit to the bando" thing, fitting for your name, though not very practical. That said, if everything UER was practical, we wouldn't have IndoAnomaly.

Hello UER, just thought I'd introduce myself as I've never posted on this site before but I frequent it often. I am the current administrator of KCUrbEx.org, I took over when youthsonic didn't want to run it anymore. I look forward to being more active on here and Underground Ozarks and meeting some new people!

Hey All! I'm new on here, but have been exploring abandoned rural places near my home in NJ. I originally joined to try and find new places out near where I go to college, but this site seems like a lot more than just talking about locations which seems nice. Anyways, I'm really excited to be a part of this community and hopefully I don't break any rules when I share pictures I've taken in the past. (Also, what is the proto-call if a building I used to explore is knocked down, but not visible on the public UE DB?) Anywho, if any of you end up in Terre Haute, IN and are looking to explore please shoot me a message.

Hi, just introducing myself. I'm in Madison, Wisconsin, and would love to get back out there. Recovering from shoulder surgery has sidelined me. I had just barely gotten started doing a little bit of (timid) exploring. my big thing that makes me nervous is i'm deaf. so harder for me to know if cops, etc, are about. i depend more on my eyes. I wanted to attach some images I took of garver mill a couple years ago, but they appear to be too large, so I need to figure out how to resize them smaller. oh, and I'm an old lady. fifty. so, yeah. i have some negatives. but on the upside i'm not going to be flighty or weird. Editing to add: ok. I resized garver mill photo to less than 100 k and it's still bouncing back as being too large. what's up??

Welcome! Try using the flash uploader maybe? The big white one below the reply box.. Make sure it’s a JPG and if that doesn’t work then try resizing it down to below 800px.

Hey, welcome to UER! Fellow Madison explorer here- Garver sure was an interesting place, though now that renovations are underway it's pretty much untouchable. Anyway, it's good to see someone else from Madison around- there's a few of us around, and it's always good to see another.

Hi everyone, my name is Ian. Made an account on here a couple years ago, but was never really active. I live in the Orange County/LA area, but go all over California to find places. Recently I’ve been alot more active in the whole Urbex scene and wanted to be more involved in the community.

Hi there! I'm Nina and I'm from Raleigh, North Carolina. I've been exploring for just a few months but am really excited to join to get advice on photography and work up to some major locations that I've been interested in. If anyone in NC is interested in meeting up and exploring that would be great. message me anytime
