So I'm bored and need a project. I'm thinking of making my own beer. I can get my hands on a few buckets, a couple carboys, and I have a big stock pot. I will ebay the rest of the small, brewing specific parts. I will get a book on it from the library and learn as I go so I'm not looking for someone to hold my hand or tell me what to do. What I'm looking for is if you have done it before what was your experience with it?

Why waste your time brewing beer? You should spend quality time making absinthe. There are kits you can buy to help you along. I understand it is fairly easy.

several MSP explorers brew their own beer (not me, Wackdood does though, so I drink his). Macsbug does as well, and a few non-UER explorers. They usually keg it and bottle it (kegs for homes / UE parties, bottles for backpacks while exploring).
If you want to protect the locations you love to explore, don't talk about them online in public! If you want to make exploring friends, send people private messages! Meet up in real life! Get off the internet! Don't try to have a UER e-penis! You won't impress anyone! This especially means you, Minneapolis MN newbies! | |
I agree with the absinthe comment^^ Making wine is better than beer imo

If you knew me, you'd know I'm really not the absinthe type. Besides, I try to stay away from things that have to be poured over sugar cubes and cut with water in order to be palatable.

Mmm, mmm absinthe! For some reason, coming home after a twelve hour day and pouring a nice tall glass of absinthe just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Last time I went to Germany, I had some apple wine. I was told it's commonly made in German beerhouses, and it only takes 3 days. It tasted awesome, and I've always wanted to try to make some myself. I asked about it while I was there, and they said it was very easy.
