Getting caught exploring isn't always bad.

I was in the area of the old Federow Iron & Metal building today, so I thought I'd stop by and see if anything had changed since I last explored it.
As I was wandering around, snapping pics of things I'd missed the last time, when I heard footsteps and turned to find a man walking up to the building I was in.

I first noticed he was carrying a hammer, and thought "oh shit!" he asked me what I was doing, and I calmly explained I was taking pictures and had always had an interest in old buildings. He explained to me that his boss and himself were cleaning up the property, and for liability reasons, I really shouldn't be there, but was otherwise nice.

We talked about the history of the place and he told me it has been closed since he was a kid. (he looked in his 30's) They were hired by the owner (Mr. Federow) to clean up the place as well as remove any scrap that was still there.

All in all, it was an interesting experience, and just goes to show you that if you stay cool and don't act like your guilty or up to no good, people aren't as likely to treat you as such.

Stay safe out there!
