So if you know what ZORK is then you may understand my dillema. I recently aquired a vintage Mac Classic II which runs Mac os 6.0.8L. I reall want to run some classic text based games on this machine. Problem is I dont know how to get files onto it. All my other Computers are PCs. This is were I turn to the community: Please tell me how to transfer mac files onto a 3.5 floppy using a PC. I bought a USB 3.5" floppy drive and a big stack of floppy disk. I searched for about and 4 hours (seriously) online and all the explinations make no sence. I dont want to install Linux or any crazy stuff. Isnt there a simple way to write a mac floppy using a modern PC? What do I do?

Can't say I've used a floppy in the last half a decade, but you could research different floppy formats and try to find an app that will let you write to the one you need. Start at http://en.wikipedi...Floppy_disk_format I suppose. I'm not sure what your technical background is, but you'd probably have an easier time spinning up a virtual machine than using a real one. That's actually what I'm doing now- using vmware to run XP so I can run an old RTS. Anyway, another option would be to look for online versions. http://www.google....TF-8&q=online+zork brings up a few options. Edit: Or play nethack, an altogether superior terminal game.

Be careful, not safe. "Urbex- so much fun that it should be illegal." | |
HFVexplorer http://www.emacula...ku.php/hfvexplorer Or, upgrade to System 7.5 and use FAT formatted floppies with the included PC Exchange.

I believe MacDrive will allow you to write from a PC to a Mac formatted disk. http://www.mediafo...products/macdrive/
