Soo, finally got around to doing a drain here in Brisvegas. I belive it is called Waa although Meta or anyone else can correct this. So we get in there at low tide and walk through till the hobo room (not sure if this is the right name) and find it a little too deep to walk through (less than 100mm deep) but only just. We turn around and walk back and when we get to the exit the drain is just starting to fill with water (tidal) so we climb out and leave. I didn't find it that bad, but i wish i had brought my dive booties with me so I could have continued onwards. I do have pics but they aren't arty and I can't remember atm how to shrink em but may post them up later. Cheers, Mr Fish

That's Waa alright. First known exploration by two guys called Monkeyboy and Churchwolf back in 2001/2 ish. There are a number of upstream exits, have fun with 'em.

Great to see you made it in there! There's a big guestbook further up the drain.

Ok, so, I went to Waa again tonight with the intention of finishing it. We got up to the guestbook, which I signed then after I took a few shots of the place we were just about to head up further we heard water moving. It started off as a trickle but then got louder, so our first instinct was to leg it which we did, although not too fast. As we got closer to the hobo room the sound died out/mixed in with that of the traffic but we still decided to get out anyway. So I found where the manhole is and we made our exit through there.

Great stuff Mr Fish Did you ever find out what the water sound was from? I have read another account from a Brisbane explorer who also got a fright at the sound of a lot of rushing water, but didn't know where it came from either.. anyhow, great pics Especially like the guestbook Waa looks like a nice easy? drain for someone just getting their feet wet in this sort of thing? That's kinda like me asking a question I guess ;) Anything you would mention to someone planning a trip besides tides and some gummies? cheers, crazytrain1978
