I just realized the bayberry cell tower I posted....isn't a cell tower. After I submitted the reply I clicked away to something else without looking at it. Instead there's Rob getting boned by some persian guy. WTF?? I can't even edit it.

This thread is hilarious. I may have a possible answer to the riddle. I work for a company that builds fixed wireless broadband networks. The equipment is pretty simple and just requires somewhere to mount the transmitter and an antenna. Many of these operations are very low budget and it is very common to mount this stuff on an existing structure. You wouldn't believe some of the places we've put the stuff, about 1/2 the time on what would be considered abandoned structures, i.e. old grain elevators, buildings, silos, whatever is available. All you need is some power, as you can backhaul your internet feed, or rebroadcast a local DSL/Cable feed.
Those look like 2.4Ghz omni directional antennas, which is the most commonnly deployed. If I was closer I could bring my scanner and narrow it down for sure. Most likely a WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) made a deal to use the old barn and have their equipment locked up behind that door. We do the same thing as people are always curious. We've been stopped many times by people asking what we're doing, and I always tell them we're UFO hunters and some have been spotted in your area. Sometimes we just give them a serious stare and tell them to move along. God knows how many conspiracies we've started.

This is an example of using whatever is available. In this case, an old power distribution box was used to house the router, transmitter, and power supplies. We ended up painting it flat black. It would look rather strange to see this thing with cables running out of it in the middle of nowhere.
A shot from an old grain elevator where we mounted our 900 Mhz antennas.
If they're using straight ole 802.11, you can pick it up with your laptop. It would probably be secured, so you couldn't access it, but you could see it, and they may be broadcasting an SSID. If they're using something proprietary, like Motorola Canopy, you'd need a spectrum analyzer to find it. Of course, since I was once attached to the NSA with a TS/SBI/SCI/TK/Byeman clearance (truth), this could just be an attempt to muddy the waters with a plausible cover story.

Oh hey there Four Corners forum, just stopping in from the South forum.
Yeah that barn is just a cell tower. You can drop all investigation. Just ignore it and keep on keeping on, it's nothing special. The South forum is totally not using it to keep an eye on you. Or anything.
Seriously. Just move on. ಠ_ಠ

I'm amazed at how long this thread has lasted. Aren't y'all urbexer's? You know people who trespass illegally and potentially do certain things to gain access into places? And no one has even remotely tried to gain entry? Damn man, either crap or get off the pot already.

If you want to protect the locations you love to explore, don't talk about them online in public! If you want to make exploring friends, send people private messages! Meet up in real life! Get off the internet! Don't try to have a UER e-penis! You won't impress anyone! This especially means you, Minneapolis MN newbies! |

Posted by insanebuslady Did anyone see Pineapple Express? Fucking retarded. But that reminds me of the subterranean grow-house with the barn top from that movie.

I think it reminded me of the same thing. I just couldn't figure out where it was from. XP

The OP did a great job of describing all the circumstances around this place. Time had lapsed between the time I read the original material to when I stood on the site a few days ago, and I really must say that every notion one can think of is in the reports. Here is what struck me. From the Highway, as I was passing it by on the way to elsewhere I thought there were wide open sunny windows but on my return and subsequent entry to the property in broad daylight I realized they were flood lights. Upon returning home I reread the entire thread and sure enough they are mentioned. But they really are sick overkill for such a structure. When you behold the 4 padlocks on the door, and see their newness and expensiveness it really does give one pause. Reiterating what has already been said, there is just something way odd about how clean the area is. Not one soda can or random piece of trash, and though it looks so insignificant as to be laughable, the cleansed atmosphere combined with the Somebody Cares thing really does send a tingle down the spine. You can't help but feel that something Wrong is going on here, and the cleansing is to keep official eyes off. With that said, it should also be said that there is some sort of kiddie tower plaything in the neighboring field. Perhaps this structure is just some sort of ruin now owned by some sort of parks and open space entity that is really up on the job. The colorful kiddie tower also has flood lights. I am leaning on the above notion being the answer, but, I also have to say, that I felt I heard some hammering going on in the building, which stopped on my walking approach. Hemmed in no matter what you do...I think that I wish it was closer to me so I could check it out at night, and yet, the light must be horrid. While it has an immediate fieldy atmosphere, it's also true that an explorer's lurkings would be utterly on stage. Still, you just have to lean to the idea that some obsessive NUT has done a really good job of making this empty shell into a fortress. I would bet anything that kids used to get high and wreck shit here, and this nut then came along and made it his life's ambition to stop it via employment or new ownership. Naturally I wanted to solve the riddle while I was up there, but, all I can say is, the OP really has covered it ALL, and you don't even know that until you have walked it, and then re-read this thing. There is just a sick sick sick amount of fresh care to keep people out. 1) flood lights
2) looks can be?
Having said all that. Are any of you Beings interested in a thrice fold human lifetime vacation in Spornak? Our modern anal probing equipment is nothing to fear. You know DAMN WELL where to apply.

Looks like a barn man. Although they often use those to conceal the entrance to the old FEMA fallout bunkers.
