Pocket/Mini Pick

I am always a fan of mini/micro sized things that work as good or at least good enough. Usually I am totally disappointed but I still buy and try, It's a mental thing or something. Recently I picked up this lil guy. It was the deal of the day on one of those sketchy sites that send ur computers security on red alert. But since it was $5(U.S.A.) inc. shipping and they took PayPal. What the hell, it peaked my interest. I had seen those credit card sets B4 & they looked like shit. Especially the price $15-25 depending on the site. It was advertised as a wallet pick set. It is a lil thick to sit on all day but it does fit in the small business card pocket. It could easily be hid dang near anywhere.

Here is the set next to a regular sized pick.

So then it got me think'n. I do 95% of my picking with the half/short hook. So I cut down one & a tension wrench and...WaLa! I love it. It is hidden in the seam of my wallet. I cant even feel it. I used that tool dip for the handle.

The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us?

Feedback must be a b!tch on those.. In other words, next to no feedback..

Good for last option use, but I wouldn't use those to normally pick, I would go crazy. (so, for UE, would work)

I used to have a set very similar to that which I did the same thing to. Tucked the pick and a wrench into a pocket of my wallet and all was well.

Until I forgot about it before a plane trip.

Airport security was very cool about it, all things considered, but I don't have that pick and wrench anymore.

I'm a "Leave only footprints, take only pornography" kind of guy, myself.

This strictly my UE or lost key pick. At first it took me about 3-4 minutes to get a #5 master. Do to the shortness I hold it a bit different then my usual technique, and because of this my feeling finger is not used. So I had to learn to use No pressure on the wrench. When they are long you have more springiness & bit more forgiveness. The shortened wrench is more stiff so it very easy to over torque it. Sitting on the couch watching TV, I picked my cache of locks over and over again. Back to my usual times. But I still need real world practice. When I am in the field and all excited, I still over torque the wrench. That is why I put the twist in it. Now I just rest my thumb on it ever so gently. It is all about practice.
