Introduce yourself

I'm Rz, lots of you probably know via me drama and trolling, but there really is more to me. I'm a member of the CF and thus need to keep fit and healthy. I'm one of the fitness advisors at my unit and you're always welcome to shoot me a PM if you have question that you don't want to ask the general board about for whatever reason. I won't judge it or make fun, if I can answer it, I will, if not, I'll see if I can ask the Medical Officer or head fitness instructor his advice, and if they don't know, I'll just tell ya straight up that I can't answer it and to see your personal trainer or doctor.

also, if your in Toronto and want someone to work out with, or if your a beginner and want some free instruction in person, PM me, and I'll try my best to sync up and come out with ya.

this seems like a great idea.
im at the gym way too much. purely strength training.
ive been doing it for a number of years and started when i did loss prevention in Hamilton and was forced to fight meth addicts, crack heads and wannabe gangsters. looking intimidating helped when arresting people.

anyways same goes for me. if your in oakville or mississauga im willing to have a workout partner or 2. actually id like one right now because im starting to get bored and need motivation

Yah this seems like a good board idea. I'm not as active/fit as I'd like to be, and I'm trying to get better about that. I haven't done a lot of strength training, mainly because I'm not very educated on the subject. That's something I'd like to change. I'd also like to learn to climb, something I've done NONE of, but again, I'm not very educated on the subject. So hopefully this board will help me out a little on the subject.

climbing, I would offer to teach ya, but your in NY. I'd really suggest you see a professional climbing instructor.

If you have other training questions, shoot, and myself and other members will probably try to answer them to the best we can.

Yah, I'll probably be asking a lot of questions. One of the things is that I have VERY little upper body stregth...and that's something I'd like to work on. I'm just not sure what the best approach would be to building this up.

As for the climbing, my new roommate is a climber, so I'm thinking of asking her to teach me. There's also a climbing wall not far from where I'm moving, so I'm thinking I'll hit that up, as well.

hey rz350, i might have to ask you about climbing, ive been interested in it for a while now but never knew anyone and never wanted to go onto a climbing forum because it seems alittle intimidating

no problem, the only thing is, I dont own any equipment. I do it all on duty at CF training facilities. There is a nice rock climbing facility near broadview and queen st e in Toronto though.
