I'm still trying to figure out how that's supposed to work. The structure will collapse... over three DAYS? Do they go, "3... 2... 1... a half... a quarter... an eighth..."

Not my best work but haven't had much time to go out and take pictures, supper busy with school.

Sorry about the re post but I checked the tread a while after I had posted this pic and was horrified. I don't know why it looked the way it did it must have been a bad upload. So I'm fixing it.

From the video I saw, it looked like they used a backhoe-type jackhammer thing to chip away at one of the concrete columns until it gave way, which led to a more violent and expeditious collapse than had been anticipated or desired, as I understand it.

That's what I got from what I'd heard. It was supposed to take 3 days and took 1.
I wonder who drew the short straw and drove the backhoe? Even though I like tearing things down, that woulda been sketchy.

Are you back in the metromess? I thought the only underground passages in NM had *gold* nuggets at the bottom, not... "other" nuggets. Though those pipes do look pretty dry...

Sweet shuttle shot man. I always wanted to see one lift off but doesn't look like I'll make it since there are what... 8 left to go I think?

There are 5 shuttle missions left now, all next year. I'm planning to go see it again at least one more time next year.
