After 2 close calls with CPRPS I managed to get some half decent shots of the tunnel. Sorry about the quality but they were taken with a cameraphone and in a high surveillance area. Anyways...enjoy:

Thanks man. While we did pass a small no trespassing sign we stayed on our side of the authorized personnel only sign blocking the stairs down to the tunnel. Missed the RP both times by a few seconds. During the night trip we got to see a train head over to detroit but i didnt get a decent pic of it

Is that the Windsor-Detroit? I wish I could get that close. There's a camera looking at each tube and then 2 more a little ways down the track watching the area in general. And like I said...if you stay for more than a minute or 2 then a not-so-friendly RP comes to see what ur up to and kicks you out. Again, both times I missed them by seconds but the second time he caught us a couple blocks away at another rail yard. He gave us the whole trains aren't toys speech and then he added as an afterthought, "Be careful what u take pictures of around the tracks. Some thing (meaning the tunnel) carry a $120 fine for taking pics."

That looks pretty interesting for a small tunnel.

Wow, all the RR tunnels out west here are dirty, ballast floor. That looks clean and purty.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!

If you're asking about the Windsor-Detroit, it's probably close to 2 miles long. The entrances are each about a quarter mile from the Detroit River which the tunnel runs under.

Interesting side tunnel - the curve seems waay to sharp to let a normal train pass trough, maybe a subway car but even then... Was this ever meant to have tracks in it?
