We need a general thread. Favorite beer? Most desired beer you might not have yet had a chance to try? Worst beer you've ever had? Wutcha drinkin right now?! Discuss at will! I've been on an IPA bender for some time now. On the menu tonight : 1. Stone Ruination IPA
100+ IBU's, 7.7% alcohol, 14$ for a sixer of 12oz. bottles. Delectably bitter, every sip makes my nipples stand on end. Hop bitterness is charmingly balanced by sprucey, citrusy, and alcoholic undertones, followed with a very toasty, caramel malt flavor, and finishing back at a high hop flavour. Chew is absolutely perfect, carbonation and consistency are spot on. Smells like a stroll through a garden of the finest hops on a sunny spring day. Highly recommended!

See if you can find southern tier brewing's unearthly ipa. Like 12% and very good! Love IPAs myself, the hoppier the better. Always got a soft spot for my Porters and stouts, though

Ever had Roxxy Roles by Magic Hat?
Favorite beer: Shock Top and Kona Longboard are tied
There is a local brewery down here called Red Oak that only does kegs, I still haven't tried it.
I also am building a bottle collection:
68 different varieties so far, and its only been about two months. Also planning to cover my car in beer bottle caps.

hahaha. cool idea!
i found out a month ago my favorite IPA isn't being made anymore. was "hoptical illusion" by blue mountain. i'm very sad.
on the plus side, flying dog moved the rest of their equipment out of denver and here to frederick. i like supporting local guys, so i think this is my new beer. they do brewery tours every saturday. it's free, and they give you 5 bottle caps which you can redeem for free beers at the bar after the tour. and i found out that if you ask questions during the tour, the guide will give you a bottle cap for each question. guess who knows a lot about brewing but will have a thousand questions when he takes the tour???

Hmm I've had southern tier brewing's unearthly ipa, but none of the other suggestions so far. I will certainly try to find them. Don, I'm still finding Hoptical Illusion all over the place. I'll horde some of it for you, if you'd like. =P

Ithaca Beer's Flower Power. They use fresh hops, so it's strong but fruity.

Remember anything about it at all? Triumph? River Horse? (They make Hop Hazard, which is pretty damn good) Perhaps Kroghs?

Questions for beer lovers: What is your guilty pleasure beer? What is your go-to beer when you're out at a restaurant or bar? i.e. There are TONS on tap and you can't decide, you go with this beer. What is your go-to cheap beer? What is your classy, "look-at-what-i'm-drinking" beer?
My answers: Guilty Pleasure: Bud Heavy... in the can. Go-To Beer: Guinness or Beamish. Go-To Cheap Beer: Blue Light Classy beer: Something with a story... Stone beers, IPAs, or any of the Ithaca Beers.

What is your guilty pleasure beer? nugget nectar cuz it's seasonal and really expensive. and fucking fantastic What is your go-to beer when you're out at a restaurant or bar? if they don't have an IPA i like i get sierra nevada, since you can find it at most bars. What is your go-to cheap beer? coors light lately. they sell 18 packs of 16oz cans for $1 more than the 18 pack of 12oz cans.
What is your classy, "look-at-what-i'm-drinking" beer? huh? i'm not such a snob that this makes any sense to me

Let's swap the nugget nectar to the last answer and get something that you're a little embarrassed to admit that you drink...

I don't think it's a gay drink... Mojito...
Edit: Corley, I'm only teasing because even Morgan Mojitos are classier than my backwoods Budweiser in the can.

word. yeah, the coors light is prolly moar embarrassing. i can only drink the 16oz cans tho, cuz the 12oz cans are too skinny to fit into my koozy right. and i always rock the koozy. i've got a can and a bottle koozy at my and all my friends' houses where i normally drink.

Guilty Pleasure: Corona and Lime Go-To Beer: Shocktop or Amber Bock Go-To Cheap Beer: Yuengling Classy beer: Peroni or Newcastle
"Aint nothin' to it but to do it" |

Guilty Pleasure: Any lager Go-To Beer: Any lager Go-To Cheap Beer: Coors light Classy beer: Stella Artois ... I like the glasses it's served in, enough that a couple have made it home with me
Ambivalent? Well yes and no |

Guilty pleasure: Dubuisson Scaldis Prestige: $40 a 750ml bottle is expensive, but damn it's tasty (and 12% alcohol.) Go-to beer: I rarely order beer at a restaurant, but when I do, it's usually an IPA. Russian River Brewery's Pliny the Elder is my usual IPA on the west coast, but Lagunitas IPA will do. Go-to cheap beer: Pabst Blue Ribbon. For the money, it doesn't get any better. $3.99 a sixer/$6.99 a 12. Schlitz will suffice in a pinch if it's ice cold. Look-at-what-I'm-drinking beer: 9 liter bottle of St. Feuillen Tripel at the two places that have it. 3 liters of Chimay Blue elsewhere, or anything that only comes in a 750ml bottle. I Looooooooooooooooooove Beer.
