A New Toy!

I've been looking for one of these for a while, and now I have one. The infamous Nikon F3, the camera that started the "red stripe" on nikon bodies.

The Nikkor AI-S 105mm 1:2.5 - I originally got this while I was still using Minolta gear, someone gave it to me, I found it again recently for use on my D300, makes a perfect pairing for the F3.

Some of the first shots off the camera. Lens - Nikkor AI-S 105mm 1:2.5, Kodak Tmax 400

I like the fm-2 better for most reasons (higher flash sync, included hot shoe, no battery necessary, on/off switch much more practical) but the feeling of the grip on the motor drive for the f3 has yet to be matched by any nikon to this day.

Oh, and the 105 2.5 is one of the sharpest lenses nikon's every built. I still use mine on my digi gear as well. Nice find, was it cheap?

yep.
