With Sam waxing melancholy in the other thread, whiskey bottle and fading memories by his side, I decided we could use a more positive question. How has age improved you? What can you do now that you couldn't do back in the olden days?

I have become more able to let things go...to see the bigger picture. I am a hell of a lot more mellow now than when I was a teenager. To be able to look back and laugh, and have more patience with the younger people around me...acknowledging the fact that I too was once thier age, and if only the "older" people then were half as cool as I am now. We are not old.....just older.

I have learned not sweat the petty things and not to pet the sweaty things. Well unless I got them sweaty by the way of petting.
A mirage is not an optical illusion. It is a real phenomenon, and one can take photographs of it. The interpretation of the image, however, is up to the fantasy of the human mind. |

I have become more patient... Years go by a lot faster, after a vacation is over or Christmas has just ended, I think to myself "The next one is only a year away" When I was young, a year seemed like an eternity, it was even hard to wait a week for something.

I think, among other things,it's the ability to be taken more seriously by others. No longer are you just a kid with no experience. Also, age makes a good credibility prop in UE, people are more apt to believe you because of your age. I can't wait 'til I'm 65 and I can fake dementia to gain access! Just think: you get caught where you're not supposed to be and you're like "WHO ARE YOU, WHERE AM I, DON'T TOUCH ME! Ahh, good times...
