You know you're getting old when you go exploring with your male friends, and end up discussing diet options. If I've already posted something about that, put me down for a comment on failing memory, too.

After the last few weeks I have had I am not looking that close to find out if I do. Not to mention I can't with this crazy neck brace. I have been feeling very old. Cervical spinal fusion for my old disks and then to the eye doctor for my routine 2 year eye test. Just got the call to say I can come pick up my shiny new bifocals.

Shell, I've got tri-focals, I love them, plus they darken in the sun, so I look like a movie star. I hope your back heals up well, I've broken my neck and my back, so I know how bad things can get, but they'll get better, I promise you.

Shell: Got my first pair long ago. I don't know about you but I am a voracious reader and I could never keep it up w/o my bi-focs and therefore I love them. I'm guessing you were not a good candidate for the Lasic route. Wish you the best of luck on your rough journey..........Kurtz

Thanks guys! Well the glasses won't be that bad I am sure. It was either that or I needed arm extensions. The neck surgery is not so bad either. I got waited on for a few weeks and have this really cool new self portrait.

Shell, was that from a whiplash injury or a degrading of the disks? ......... Almost got to see boobies!!

HA! A few years ago they were perky enough and you just might have seen them. No injury that I am aware of. Just wear, tear and overuse I guess.

I'm sorry that your boobies got worn, torn, and overused, it would have happened much sooner if we had met as teens, so consider yourself blessed. My wife says that if she thinks of her boobs as cannons, as long as they don't blow off her feet, she's good to go!! Heal quickly.

Oldness alert: I'm off adventuring, soon, so I bought decent hiking boots, to stand less chance of a recurrence of either my recent ankle injury, or my once-fractured foot.

I was having problems walking. Turns out I have gout. Gee, sounds like what my Dad had when he hit his 40s. Don't want to know what next.

I was just on gout medication to treat pericarditis! Hmm, I guess that's another thing to feel old about - having a cardiologist...

Luckily I don't need a cardiologist (yet). However, I do have the blood pressure pills. Blegh!

Looking in the mirror and seeing that I have crows feet starting around my eyes, a worry line between them and gray hair that looks like it's blonde highlights. That and looking at my coworker who's almost 20 years older than I am, realizing he looks only a few years older than I do and realizing he's actually attractive. That's scary as hell.
