Typcial GE weirdness? I've seen pics of tons of them blowing flames and massive amounts of smoke like that when unburnt fuel gets piled up in the exhaust and burns up really quick.

No this wasn't the usual uncombusted fuel.... apparently a bunch of water got into the engine oil and made it do this. They had to shut the unit down and set it off in the siding, but not before the police and fire department came to figure out what was going on.
